Harvest
Final Journal Entry: Earth and Wind Harvest 🌿 Harvest Completion: The journey has reached a pivotal milestone - both Earth and Wind have been successfully harvested. This marks the end of their growth cycle and the beginning of their transformation through curing. 🌏 Earth and 🌬️ Wind, each unique in their growth and challenges, have been carefully tended to from seed to harvest. Their individual characteristics have taught me a lot about adaptability and attentiveness in cultivation. 🔥 With Fire already progressing well in the curing stage, it's time to focus on Earth and Wind's post-harvest process. The drying area is set, and the conditions are monitored closely to ensure optimal drying. 🏺 The next step will be the meticulous process of curing - a crucial phase to develop and refine their flavors, aromas, and potency. The jars are ready, along with Boveda packs to maintain the ideal humidity. 📊 **Final Weights Pending**: A follow-up entry will be dedicated to revealing the final dry weights of Earth and Wind. This will not only be a measure of yield but also a testament to the care and effort put into this grow. As this cycle comes to a close, I look back with gratitude for the learning and experiences gained. Stay tuned for the final update on the dry weights, and here's to the next adventure in growing! 🌱🍂🌟

Day 105: December 26, 2023 🔥 Transitioning Fire to Curing: Today marked a significant step in Fire's journey. After drying, I've moved Fire into the curing stage. 🏺 Jar Details: - Jar 1: Contains 1 ounce and 4.7 grams (33.05 grams total). - Jar 2: Also holds 1 ounce and 4.7 grams (33.05 grams total). 🌿 Curing Process: - Both jars are equipped with 62% Boveda humidity packs to maintain ideal moisture levels. - Monitoring humidity using both inexpensive hygrometers and a Govee smart hygrometer for accuracy. 💧 Initial Humidity Readings: - Jar 1: Humidity spiked to 73% within the first 10 minutes. - Jar 2: Recorded at 70% humidity in the same timeframe. 🤔 Reflections & Next Steps: - These initial high humidity readings are a bit concerning. It suggests there's still a significant amount of moisture in the buds. - Plan to closely monitor and regularly "burp" the jars, especially in these early days, to stabilize the humidity. - I'll be adjusting the burping frequency based on subsequent readings to ensure a successful curing process. Excited to see how the curing transforms Fire's flavor and potency over the next few weeks! 🌱🔄🚀

Day: 102
Autoflower
Day 102 - December 23, 2023 🌏 Earth is flaunting an impressive purple hue. Showing recovery from earlier nutrient burn, with some tip curling. The buds are looking fantastic, though they still need a bit more time. Very pleased with the progress! 🌬️ Wind is facing some challenges. It's exhibiting a different phenotype compared to Earth, with some spotting on upper leaves near the main cola. I've been carefully removing damaged leaves, mindful not to over-prune as I did with Fire. 🌿 Both received Big Bud and Tiger Bloom in their last feeding. I had previously scaled back on nutrients due to earlier burning issues, but this might have led to some yellowing. 🔥 Fire, now in the drying phase, is doing well. The environment is a tad cooler and more humid than ideal, but I'm monitoring closely. Lower temperatures mean a slower drying process, which I'm okay with as long as there's no mold or . 🌱 Also, an update on the F1 Milky Way seed germination started on the 16th - no tail yet. I've contacted Royal Queen Seeds for advice and initiated germination of a second seed to compare results.

Harvest
December 19, 2023 - Day 98 🔥 Big News on Fire: Harvested successfully! Final Plant Weight: 8.9oz!!! (Wet) 🌡️ Drying Area Stats - Last 7 Days: - Avg Temp: A bit on the cool side at 51.6°. I'm keeping an eye on this, though I'm not entirely sure how critical this temp is for the drying process. - Avg RH: Holding steady at 58.5%. 🗓️ Next Steps: - The initial plan is to let them dry undisturbed for about 5 days. - I'll be watching for the point when a stem snaps, indicating they're ready for the next phase. - Then, it's onto curing in mason jars with Boveda humidity packs. 🌀 Additionally, I've got a small fan in the drying area, set to blow away from the plants, just to ensure there's some air movement and no stagnant spots. The first part of the harvest process is done, and now it's a waiting game to see how the drying goes. Here's to hoping for the best! 🌿✂️🍃

Day 97: December 18, 2023 🍃 Status Quo: The garden is steady, with no dramatic changes, but there's still some work to do. 🌬️🌏 Wind and Earth are persisting with their yellowing leaves issue. I administered Cal Mag on the 14th, hoping for some improvement. Planning to conduct another runoff test soon for a better understanding. 🔥 Fire is closing in on harvest, with about 60% of trichomes cloudy and a sprinkle of amber ones. Looking at this weekend to start the harvest process. 🌱 New Beginnings: I've started germinating a Milky Way F1 seed, ready to step into Fire's spot but in a different grow area. Excited to begin a new grow journey alongside this one. As Fire's chapter nears its end, I'm gearing up for the next adventure in my grow saga. 🌟✂️🌿

Day 93 - Thursday, December 14, 2023 🔥 Fire is on the final stretch, with harvest planned for this Saturday. Trichomes are mostly cloudy, and amber ones are popping up. 🌬️ Wind, now the tallest, is flowering impressively. Some yellowing on the leaves has me curious - I plan to do a runoff test soon to investigate. 🌏 Earth is not far behind, showcasing an abundance of purplish leaves and strong budding. 🌿 Preparing for Harvest: The drying area is all set, holding steady with the right humidity and temperature levels. Ready to start the drying process for Fire this weekend. Excited and a bit anxious to see how Fire turns out after drying and curing. It's almost time to reap the rewards of the hard work! 🌱✂️🍃

Day 84 - December 5th 2023 🔥 Fire is facing challenges, potentially due to nutrient deficiency or high pH levels. Continuing to remove any damaged leaves as a precautionary measure. Trichomes are evolving from clear to cloudy, hinting that harvest is on the horizon. 🌤️ Preparations for drying/curing are complete, with Boveda 62% humidity packs at the ready for when the time comes. 🌏🌬️ Earth and Wind experienced an unexpected growth surge just as flowering began, and they've been thriving ever since! Earth, in particular, has reached impressive heights, almost outgrowing the tent, with upper leaves showing a bit of heat stress. Despite that, PPFD readings are on target, so the course remains steady. The final stretch is in sight as we approach the end-of-year harvest season. 🌱✂️🍂

Day 75: November 26th, 2023 🔥 Fire is approaching the finale of its flowering phase. Monitoring trichomes closely. Some leaves have developed spots, so I've opted for water-only to play it safe. 🌬️ Wind has shot up, becoming the tallest and is now fully flowering. Its slender stature makes me wonder how it'll support the developing buds. 🌏 Earth is also in full bloom and looks healthy, although there's a touch of yellow to the leaves. 🌬️🌡️ Adjusted the environmental controls: the humidifier is out, and the fan and ventilation now kick in at 80°F or above 60% humidity, which has been effective. 👁️ Keeping an eye out for the right moment to start curing Fire. Prepping with Boveda packs and mason jars for the process. Soon it'll be time to reap the rewards of this grow with Fire leading the harvest march. 🌿✂️🏺

Day: 63
Autoflower
Day 63: November 14th, 2023 🌬️ Wind is gradually showing more preflowering signs, trailing far behind Fire. 🌺 Fire, which began flowering on 10/12, continues its progression but I'm vigilant about the humidity, trying to keep it below 60%. 🔥 Noticed yellowing leaves on Fire, assessing if it's part of the natural flowering process or potential nutrient issues. 🌏 Despite the 12/12 light schedule, Earth hasn't shown signs of flowering yet, but remains in good health. 🔬 Runoff pH Results: Earth at 5.7, Wind and Fire at 5.2, indicating a need for pH adjustment. 💡 Transitioned to the Vivosun AeroLight 211 Grow Light and air circulation system for a more cohesive setup with my Vivosun controller. 💧 On the lookout for a smart humidifier compatible with my system to fine-tune VPD settings more effectively.

Rasta Man I would stress about it bro. If you see that OG kush auto on my log was 130 for harvest. I had 6 plants all sprouted same day came out 1 day difference and OG kush was one of the first.same nutrients same lights same tent.my conclusion is the genetic.now I’m going to tel you this one!! If you put your lights @24 hours on veg first 3 weeks they won’t flower lol they did at week 7 when I realize was the lights.
Rasta Man And did my lights on 18/6 that’s why I do only 18/6
p42o Yeah that’s good to know. I’ve been on 18/6 but overall, these plants have been through a TON of change. The environment they’re in now is 100x better than where they started so I’m wondering if something along the way stressed them

Day 52: October 31, 2023 🌺 Fire: Continues to flourish in its flowering phase. It remains a mystery why Fire is progressing faster than the other two plants. 🌎 Earth: Maintains a robust appearance. There are potential early signs of flowering, albeit subtle. 🌬 Wind: A few pistils have emerged, but the overall flowering progress is minimal. The next days will be crucial to determine whether Wind is experiencing any issues or if it's about to transition into flowering more substantially. 🍼 Feeding: So far, I've adhered to the Fox Farm feeding schedule, administering 1/3 of the recommended dosage from the trio. Note: Need to decide whether to feed them tonight or tomorrow. ---

Day 48: October 27, 2023 🍃 All three plants are looking healthy! 💧 Their thirst is noticeably increasing, with them consuming more water daily. 🌊 Wind had a momentary pH spike post-Sledgehammer dose, but it's balanced out now. ❓ Fire's accelerated flowering remains a puzzle. It's far ahead of Earth and Wind, and I'm curious to find the reason.

Day 44: October 26, 2023 🌱 All three plants are thriving today. 🌊 Wind had a few leaves that hinted at leaf septoria, so I decided to play it safe and removed any leaves showing symptoms. Thankfully, Earth and Fire seem unaffected. 🔥 Fire keeps pushing through its flowering stage, standing out from its siblings. 🌿 Training has been toned down for now; I'm just helping them maintain their structure and spread. 💧 pH levels hover between 7-8, so I'm keeping an eye on that. 🌡️ Average temp settles at 75.5°F with humidity at 54.3% - VPD remains stable at 1.4. ⛺ The grow tent is on its way and should be set up within the next week. 💧 For the next watering session, Sledgehammer will be on the menu to give them a little boost.

Day: 41
Autoflower
Day 41: October 23, 2023 🌱 Fire is thriving and actively flowering, setting itself apart once again. Meanwhile, Earth 🌍 and Wind 🌬️ remain steadfast in their vegetative phase. Fire's initial leaf irregularity makes its distinctive growth pattern less surprising. 🎪 Exciting times ahead as I've placed an order for a Vivosun 4x2 Grow Tent. The tent is set to arrive within the week. Although I'm yet to secure a ventilation system, I'm optimistic about transitioning the plants into their new home, possibly by the weekend. 🛒 On the supply front, I've added Fox Farm Bushdoctor CalMag and Sledgehammer to the arsenal, ensuring I'm well-equipped to address any potential nutrient needs or flushing requirements. ✂️ I took some time to give the ladies a little pruning - removing the less healthy fan leaves that were hindering light penetration, especially on the lower regions. Followed by a mild watering session. The goal for the next couple of days is minimal interference, letting them recover and continue their growth journey unimpeded.🌿🚿🌞

apexpred Oh yuh def did some math. I woulda added it to a 1 gal then fill up the 12 oz bottles from that
p42o lol I just uploaded a picture of the recommended feeding schedule to ChatGPT, told it to use 1/3 the recommended amount and that I have a ML syringe and 12oz bottles of water - how much of each and what order do I add them. It did it for me (hopefully right) 😆
p42o And after doing my math for me - I told it to write my journal entry for today and gave it a couple others details on how this look and what I did 🤣 And boom 💥

Day 37: October 19 📆 🌱 Fire is in full pre-flowering mode, with Wind showing early signs and Earth not far behind. Wind’s lower leaves are hinting at a potential issue I’m yet to diagnose, and Fire’s upper leaves have some yellow tips - might be nutrient-related. 🚱 Holding off on the nutrients for a few more days. Soil pH has been hovering around 7.5 to 8, but I’m considering a digital meter for more accuracy. 🍄 Introduced more Mykos. 🌡️ Average Temp: 75.5°F 💧 Humidity: 54.3% 🌀 VPD: 1.40 🤔 I believe my environmental control might be limited until I get a tent. Seeking advice on the minor leaf issues and tips for transitioning smoothly into pre-flowering. Should I adjust the lights?

amithus If you are looking to invest in a nice soil ph meter I have the Apera soil meter and it does liquids as well and the sensor tip is replaceable. It’s expensive but it’s really nice. I bought the blue labs ph meter but it only does liquid and the Apera holds its calibration better.
amithus And a small amount of tip burn is actually ok. It’s called something like greenhouse tip or something meaning it’s on the line of nutrient uptake. As long as you keep the ph in line you should be good.
Day: 34
Autoflower
Day 34: October 16th, 2023 🌺 Fire has started pre-flowering! Unexpected since it initially seemed less hearty, but it's showing multiple flowering sites. 💧 Fed plants with another 1/3 tsp of the Foxfarm trio. However, Earth got a double dose by mistake. Will monitor closely. 🌱 Wind and Earth haven't started pre-flowering yet. All three plants seem smaller than anticipated, but this being my first indoor and auto grow, it's hard to benchmark. 🌡️ Average temp is at 75.7°F, humidity is 52.8%, and VPD is 1.45. Adjusted fans to attempt a temperature increase and VPD decrease. 🟡 Noticing small yellow blemishes sporadically. Some are from minor injuries caused by training wire, while others might be from spraying plants during their light cycle. I've stopped spraying them when lights are on to prevent potential issues. Stay tuned as the journey continues! 🌿📈🌼

Day 33: October 15, 2023 🌱 All plants are doing well. Made adjustments to correct some overzealous low stress training, especially with Fire bending a bit unusually. 🍼 Introduced Foxfarm's Tiger Bloom, Grow Big, and Big Bloom fertilizers, tailored for auto-flowering plants. Started conservatively with less than half a teaspoon per plant in a 16oz watering. Monitoring to determine if this dosage is appropriate. 🕰️ Still on the 18/6 light schedule. 💧 Continuing with bottled spring water for hydration. 🖐️ May reduce LST adjustments temporarily as I introduce nutrients and fertilizers to better observe their reactions. 🌡️ Soil pH remains stable. However, room conditions have been avg temp at 76.1°F, avg humidity at 49.5%, and VPD at 1.55 kPa. Working on optimizing the VPD. Looking forward to observing how the plants respond to the new nutrient regimen and the ongoing tweaks in the grow space! 🌿👀

🥳Day 30: October 12, 2023 🌿 Low Stress Training (LST) is progressing well. I accidentally bent the main stems further than intended but managed to correct by bending in the opposite direction. 💧 Did a watering session today. 🥤 Ordered the Foxfarm Liquid Nutrient Trio Soil Formula: Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom. It seems the soil might be running low on nutrients, so I'll introduce this formula soon. The nutrients will arrive tomorrow, and I plan to follow the Fox Farms feeding schedule closely. 🔍 Monitoring some yellow spots on the leaves. Some of this discoloration might be from the LST adjustments. 🌀 Added a box fan set to low above the plants for better air circulation. 🪞 Placed another mirror on the far wall to maximize light distribution. 🌡️ Average temperature has been at 75.7°F with a humidity of 52.1%. The VPD sits at 1.47 kPa, which I'm working on lowering by adjusting the environment. Eager to see how the plants respond to the new nutrients and changes in the grow space! 🌱📈

TheSocialGrower Careful to go low & slow with the nutes. With autos, some ppl recommend going down to as low as 1/4th what is recommended for photos. Some autos can be super finicky w nutrients, and your plants already appear pretty dark green from what I can tell. If you used OF or SF base soil and didn’t cut it with anything I wouldn’t think they’ve depleted that quite yet. You do you tho, your grow is your oyster
LeChron James Good advice SG.

Day 28: October 10th 🌱 Observations: Wind's lower leaves are starting to show a yellow hue. Spotted a few other yellow specks on different leaves. Monitoring closely but not panicking. 🍄 Mykos Impact: Before watering, I introduced some Mykos. A positive change I've observed is the disappearance of the cracking in the soil since its introduction. A nod to the wonderful world of beneficial microbes! 💧 Watering: The soil signaled dryness, so I gave the plants a good soak post-Mykos application. 🔗 LST Adjustments: Tweaked the LST ties a bit. It's fascinating to see Earth, Wind, and Fire adapt to this training method. Eager to see how the next few days unfold in this growing adventure! 🌿🌟🌊

amithus These are coming along nicely. 🤙
amithus I will say, LST is more to open up the canopy so the branches are farther apart so when the flowers come in the bud sites have more light and air flow. Not so much about training the main stalk. You’d want the main stalk to be straight up then take the side branches and pull them outward away from the center. Only saying this with all respect.
p42o Appreciate it man, I will continue to adjust it 👍🏻

Day 24: October 6th 🌱 Low-Stress Training (LST): The plants might look a bit chaotic due to the LST, but they seem to be coping well. 📏 Plant Height: Despite being bent over, they measure between 4 1⁄2 to 6 inches tall. 💡 Lighting: Running both lights at full capacity, positioned approximately 22 inches above the plants, on an 18/6 schedule. 🌡 Climate Stats: - Average Temperature: 71.9° - **Average Humidity: 58.4% - **Average VPD: 1.11kPa 📈 Growth Observation: It appears the growth rate has decreased a bit, but it's challenging to gauge accurately because of the LST. 🍃 Leaf Health: Keeping a close eye on the leaves for any indications of stress or overwatering. Signs of these issues seem to be diminishing. Overall, the plants are progressing, even if they look a bit unruly due to the training. It's crucial to continue monitoring them closely to ensure they remain healthy throughout this process.

Professor Chag What kind of water are you using?
p42o I’ve been using spring water I’m buying at the grocery store.
Professor Chag Nice, that’s how I started, but Then I realized that it was going to get expensive lol. I currently reside in a state that has chloramines in their tap water so I had to buy vitamin c powder to neutralize the chlorine / chloramines. then I ph it to 6.5. I watered two days ago and everything seems good to go. Not sure about the PPM as I don’t have anything to measure it. But the Ph Is good and no more chloramines in my tap water.

Still figuring out the right bend; not sure if I went far enough with them. 💧 Watering Observations: Earth's leaves are curling upwards, which might indicate over-watering. Wind and Fire, however, don't show similar signs. Keeping a close eye on moisture levels and will adjust accordingly. 🤔 Growing Pains: Navigating the balance of training without causing stress. Day 21: October 3, 2023 🌱 Growth Update: • Continued growth at the top core of all three plants. • Plants remain upright and sturdy. • Daily rotations keep plants gravitating inward towards the light’s center, ensuring even exposure and maintaining straight growth. 💡 Observations/Thoughts: • Debating the introduction of nutrients. While the plants are thriving in their current state, nutrients could provide an added boost. However, considering it’s a first grow, there’s merit to the idea of keeping things simple and observing the plants’ natural progression. • The increasing aroma from the plants is becoming more evident. Day 19: October 1, 2023 🌱 Growth: Returned from my trip to witness a significant boost in growth over a short span. The plants are now all at or above 4", with sturdy stems to boot! 💧 Watering & Nutrition: Gave each plant a good drink and rotated them for uniform light exposure. To enhance their roots and nutrient uptake, I added another tablespoon of Mykos to each. 🌡️ Climate: - Average Temperature: 71° - Average Humidity: 58% - Average VPD: 1.11kPa 👃 Scent: A more noticeable aroma is emanating from the plants, a clear indication of their robust growth. 🔍 Plant Observations: - Earth and Wind: On a steady upward trajectory, bulking up satisfactorily. - Fire: A tad slower in comparison. Noticed a unique leaf deformity - where there should be three leaves, there's just two, seemingly merged on one side. ❓ Concerns: Keeping a close watch on Fire, especially the atypical leaf. Could be a result of genetics, environmental stressors, or something else. Will monitor and seek advice if necessary. Day 15: September 27, 2023 🌱 Plant Update: • Wind, Earth, and Fire are growing noticeably each day. • Wind is leading in terms of bulk, with Earth catching up. • I’ve been ensuring they get an even light exposure by rotating them regularly. 💨 Ventilation: • The fan has been on, creating a gentle breeze. This helps in strengthening their stems and ensuring proper airflow. 💧 Watering: • For now, I’m using store-bought spring water. • A big thanks to @zer0applied for pointing out the cracks in the soil, which could indicate potential root issues. To address this, I’ve ordered Xtreme Gardening Mykos Pure Mycorrhizal Inoculant Organic Root Enhancer. It should arrive tomorrow and I plan to apply it to the topsoil before watering. 🌞 Lighting: • The SF1000 light is set on a 23/1 schedule and is positioned about 18” from the plants. • They’re starting to give off that characteristic aroma, which is quite exciting! 🔍 Observations & Actions: • I missed adding Mykos during the initial soil prep or transplanting. But I’ll now apply it to the topsoil to promote healthy root growth. • I’m exploring long-term water solutions, but until I finalize that, store-bought spring water is my go-to. I’m open to feedback, especially from anyone who has experience with using Mykos post-transplant. 🌿💧🤔

apexpred I have a 5gal jug. And just go to my local grocery store or Walmart and fill it with RO water for like 1.70$. Comes out at like 8.0 on ph and got multiple jugs so I don’t have to run as often. Cheaper option to buying gallons of spring water

Day 14 - September 26, 2023 🔄 Rotation & Growth - Rotated all three plants, changing their positions. - Earth and Wind are thriving and showing good progress. - Fire, however, seems to be growing a tad slower than its siblings. Keeping a close watch. 💧 Watering & Humidity - Adjusted my watering strategy. Instead of adhering to a set schedule, I'm utilizing the moisture reader to ensure the soil remains in the ideal moisture range. - Watering multiple times a day as the plants are showing increased growth. - As winter approaches and the indoor environment is expected to become drier, I'm researching ways to maintain optimal humidity levels for the plants. Considering investing in a grow tent to create a controlled environment since our basement tends to be damp, and we typically use a dehumidifier. 📱 Smart Home Integration - I'm exploring smart connected auto-watering systems and humidifiers. The aim is to remotely manage and monitor the plant's environment, ensuring they always have the best conditions for growth. 🤔 Thoughts & Considerations - I'm keeping a keen eye on Fire's growth rate, hoping it picks up pace soon. - Contemplating the feasibility and benefits of setting up a tent to provide the plants with a more stable and controlled environment. - The possibility of integrating more smart home devices seems promising, offering more ease in maintaining the perfect environment for the plants. Would love feedback on the smart device integrations, as well as any advice on managing humidity as winter approaches! 🌿📲

zer0applied Lookin good. Noticed roots are having issues that’s what that cracking and weird soil separation is. It’s the anchor roots etc. did you add a healthy dose of myco etc?
zer0applied I lead a team doing research into a lot of these products and specifically the IoT of the “grow” space. You should def get a tent to do your grows.
p42o I don’t know anything about myco outside of a quick google. Is it too late to do that? As for the IoT space, one thing I firmly believe as it relates to grow projects is that consistency is key. I’d like to fully automate my watering, humidity control, and even have a way to monitor soil moisture/ph. Lots of the auto-watering devices on Amazon seem to be white labeled and have tough reviews.

Day 13 - September 23, 2023 Status: 🌱 All three plants, Earth, Wind, and Fire, continue to thrive post-transplantation. They're standing about 2” tall and are showing no evident stress signs from their move. 🍃 Leaves: The foundational leaves and the first set of expansive ones look green and robust. A fresh pair of leaves is popping out on top with a tinge of purple to them. 🔥 For Fire, its second set of leaves is curiously pointing a bit downwards. Keeping this under close watch. 🌡️ Soil Readings: - Light: 1500 - pH: Hovering between 7 and 8 - Moisture: Holding steady between 7-8 out of 10. - 🌡️🌬️ Environment: The average temp is a cool 65°, with humidity balancing at 56.7%. VPD readings are showing .91 kPa. Adjustments Made: 💡 Light: The SF1000 LED light got a little elevation today, now sitting at 18" above the plant canopy. Aiming to give the plants a more comfortable glow. ⏰ Light Schedule: Made the switch from an 18/6 light cycle to a non-stop 24/7 one. Research suggests our autoflowers can take the heat. Looking Ahead: 💧 I'm zeroing in on the moisture readings to get that watering rhythm just right. Also, casting a protective eye over Fire, hoping its droopy leaves are just a phase. 🚰 Bottled spring water is the choice for now, but I'm on the hunt for wisdom on using city tap water. Any advice or feedback is gold!

zer0applied Looks like a bunch of birds taking flight
p42o Hah, it does! From your experience, are they trying to tell me anything with how those leafs look?
zer0applied In my moderately professional opinion, they look really, really, really good. NO stretch. Amazing leaf structure and symmetry. Color is spot on. Stem looks great. Dude you’re making straight fire here.

Day 11: September 23rd, 2023 Hello, fellow growers! It's Day 11 of my Blue Dream Autoflowering journey, and I'm thrilled to say the recent transplant appears to be a success. Earth, Wind, and Fire seem unfazed by the move, showcasing no signs of stress whatsoever. 🌱 Plant Update: All three plants are standing strong at about 2 inches tall. The cotyledon (seed leaves) and the first set of true leaves are looking healthy and vibrant. I've noticed the onset of two new leaves on each, showing a hint of purple - a color variation I'm closely monitoring. 🌡️ Climate Update: My grow space has been consistently sitting at an average temperature of 65° with a humidity level averaging 56.7%. The VPD has been hovering around 0.91 kPa. I believe these conditions are favorable, but if anyone thinks there's room for optimization, I'm all ears! 🔄 Rotation: To ensure each plant gets optimal exposure and to change things up a bit, I rotated their positions today. 🌀 Airflow: The small fan continues to do its job, circulating air around the plants. However, I'm in a bit of a dilemma here. Should I keep the fan running 24/7 or align its schedule with the lights? Would love some input. 💧 Watering Concern: While I've been using bottled spring water till now, I'm contemplating a more sustainable, long-term solution, given I have city water. To anyone reading, what are the must-check factors before switching? If it helps, here are the test results from my city water: [insert test results]. Again, grateful for this community and any advice you may have. Cheers!

GrNadeGrade 💣 Love the meticulous journaling. I’d recommend working on your climate. For optimal growth, temp s/b between 77-86 degrees. But if you can at least get it to 70, it bode well for the girls. Also, try increasing the humidity to at least 65%. That’s my bit of recommendations for yah! Good luck on your grow!

Day 10: September 21, 2023 Today marked a significant milestone for my Blue Dream autoflowering trio: Earth, Wind, and Fire. Following the arrival of my new SF1000 light and 5-gallon Spider Farmer fabric pots, I took the plunge and transplanted all three plants. The transplant was successful, with the root balls staying mostly intact and each plant standing upright in their new homes. After transplanting, I set the SF1000 light to 50% brightness and adjusted its height to 10 inches above the plants. So far, the girls appear to be acclimating well to their new environment. I also gave them a good watering post-transplant to help them settle into their new pots. To better monitor the environmental conditions, I’ve incorporated a Govee smart hydrometer into my setup. Big thanks to the members of the grow community for their invaluable advice—especially regarding the "reaching" issue and the decision to transplant. Next Steps: - Monitor Earth, Wind, and Fire closely for any signs of transplant or light stress. - Keep an eye on soil moisture and adjust watering as necessary. - Continue planning for a 3x3x5 grow tent and proper ventilation system. If anyone has suggestions or thinks I could tweak something for better results, please feel free to share. Your feedback is highly appreciated!

Day 6: September 17, 2023 An exciting milestone today! Earth, Wind, and Fire have all fully sprouted and are now flaunting four leaves each, signifying they've reached the 'cotyledon' stage. This is a crucial step in their development, proving that they are soaking up the necessary nutrients and light for healthy growth. The journey continues and I look forward to the next stages in their life cycle.

ig:@eaegifts It’s particularly important to monitor light distance and strength at this stage, you don’t want them stems getting too lanky/stretched 👍🏾
p42o Thanks! Should I lower my light? Or rather, how high should it be at this stage?

Day 6: September 17, 2023: What an eventful day for Earth, Wind, and Fire! All three have fully sprouted, showing 4 leaves each. Wind has been impacted the most by 'reaching,' as I had the light too high. Big thanks to the community for advising me to lower the light; I've made that adjustment. Earth and Wind's leaves are curling under a bit, which I'll be keeping an eye on. The new dimmable light I ordered arrived damaged, unfortunately, so I've placed another order for a replacement. For now, I've maintained the non-dimmable light about 16 inches above the plants and set it to an 18/6 schedule. Added a bit more soil to mound up around their bases to make up for the 'reaching,' and continue to spray them a few times a day. A small fan is also providing some air movement in the closet. The next big steps are waiting for the new dimmable light to arrive and considering when to transplant into bigger pots. Your suggestions are invaluable, so thanks to everyone for the guidance! Attached are the latest photos of Earth, Wind, and Fire. ✌🏼

zer0applied Stretching wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much. Replant and lower light / increase intensity. Can tell that light footprint isn’t nearly close enough or strong enough.
zer0applied That curling is normal my man. Just them doing their thing.
p42o Thanks for the advice! At this point I’m well aware of the stretching problem and how o got here, I’m more figuring out how to proceed with the least amount of impact. No question I’ll be starting off the next round on a different foot.

Day 4: September 15, 2023 Fire Takes the Lead, Earth and Wind Peek Through Today at 12:30 PM, I experienced a significant milestone—Fire has officially sprouted! The first green shoot emerged from the soil, marking the beginning of its growth journey. What's more, Earth and Wind are also showing promise; they're just barely peeking through the soil. Their subtle presence hints that they're not far behind Fire in breaking through. The new dimmable SF1000D LED light is scheduled to arrive later today, and its timing is excellent. With Fire already up and Earth and Wind making their initial appearances, I'm eager to fine-tune the light conditions to better suit these young plants. The day has brought a burst of excitement and optimism to the grow operation. I can't wait to see what unfolds in the coming days. Onward and upward!

September 14, 2023 - Day 3: Upgrading to New Light Today was a big day for Earth, Wind, and Fire—I received the new SF1000D LED light with Samsung LM301B Diodes. The light boasts some impressive specs, including a perfect blend of blue, full spectrum 660-665nm, 3000K, 5000K, and IR light. It's energy-efficient, consuming only 100W while delivering powerful light and uniform canopy penetration. However, upon unboxing, I realized the light lacks a dimming capability. While it's not a deal-breaker, dimming could be useful for managing light intensity, especially during the seedling stage. To remedy this, I've ordered the same model but with a dimmer. It's expected to arrive by September 16, so I'll swap it out then. For now, I've set up the new light, and it's currently running from 4:30 PM to 10:30 AM. I'm keeping an eye on Earth, Wind, and Fire to ensure they're comfortable with the new setup until the dimmable model arrives.

September 12, 2023 - Day 1: Planting Earth, Wind, and Fire Today marks the official start of my indoor winter grow project. After their tails sprouted from a soaking process, I planted my three Blue Dream Autoflowering seeds—now affectionately named Earth, Wind, and Fire—into 4-inch circular pots. I filled the pots with Fox Farm soil, which I got in 12-quart bags. For now, they're set up in a closet. Lighting is currently being provided by a warm natural light, which is more of a temporary solution. I know it's not the most potent option for cannabis growing, but it's what I have at the moment. Plans are already in place to upgrade to a more powerful LED light system in the coming days. Accompanying this entry is a photo capturing this humble beginning. Here's to the journey ahead!
