Day: 146

Happy 420 day! Pulling this last of my BananaHammock buds to celebrate. Harvested in November and still stinky and fresh from curing properly in jars. Today let’s propose no bitching or trolling on this app. Show your nugs and celebrate Growmies!

Day: 139

ChemDog is curing now. Smelling amazing. Cracking the jars each day for 15 minutes. The nugs are perfect. And Odin my RealDog is posing for a treat.

Day: 134

Trim day. Started about 3 hours ago. Loaded the bowl with some popcorn buds. Very tasty and a very nice head high!! Go Chemdog! Very strong effect.

Day: 133

Tomorrow is final trim and jar day! I am 9 days drying in a tent and the stems are snapping.

Day: 125

+10

Harvest time! The 3 plants were washed, trimmed lightly and hanged in the tent. The house reeks of spilled diesel and thyme. 🤦‍♂️😉. My buddy Jay learned my technique today and drank my beer. Knowledge transferred. Now I think about 7-10 days before dry enough for jar.

Day: 122

+2

About three days from harvest. Just watered plain water 6.8ph. Buds are adding density last week and trichomes are finishing well. It really paid off in week 4 of flower opening up the Interior of each plant for more light. What could have been popcorn buds are maturing into golf balls. Oh and I walk my Maine coon mix in the yard on a leash. 😂

Day: 120

+1

Old school hanger trellis! To bring the flipping buds back into a bouquet of sorts. Improvisation. Just watered. Checked trichomes and it is a mixed bag. A few colas are 20% amber whereas others are still not full cloudy. Fed her some Alaska morbloom 0-12-12 for her final feed. I will wait 5 more days until week 9 I think.

Day: 119

+5

Just the ladies getting fat. Harvesting this weekend. Top colas 80% cloudy 10% amber and the rest clears. Side colas mostly all cloudy. A few ambers. Smell is insanely mouth watering diesel and citrus. Also added the model of hobby greenhouse I am exploring. Made in Canada and able to withstand high wind and snow. About right for CT. And my rescue kitty Freya. Fuck Russia 🇷🇺. Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦.

Day: 114

Got my new batch of Ethos seeds. End Game RBX. And they gave me some extras including Headband. And a new strain called Zweet Inzanity x Durban Poison. All feminized. What does the crowd think? I can grow 4 in my tent and 1 in the yard.

Day: 113

+7

Some amber trichomes on a couple side colas and the rest mostly cloudy with a few scattered amber. One more week. Fed them heavy P-K last watering 3 days ago. Next week is just plain water. Plants are thriving with the heavy top dressings the last three weeks. Heater is off and temps are 60f-73f. Perfect for fall temps.

Day: 111

+5

Week 7. Watered and top dressed with seabird guano and roots organic bloom and worm castings. Plant colas tipping over so have to consider a trellis system for the last 2 weeks. Buds getting dense and smelling like the ChemDog. Took down a fistful of dry and dead inner leaves. And today Fuck Russia glory to 🇺🇦

Day: 109

+7

Got back from Newport to the smell of Chemdog permeating through the house. Buds are getting cloudy. Some amber in the top buds. Might be harvesting in a week instead of 2. Flowering time is 7-9 weeks and these plants are in the early side. No complaints.

Day: 106

+1

Buds getting dense and the weight is tipping the colas. Love that moment in the grow. Still about 2 weeks to go. Trichomes are about 50/50 partly cloudy. Smell is diesel. Rh is 35-50. Temp is 66-77f. Leaving for Newport tomorrow so will water later

Day: 105

+13

Fed and watered last night bigly. Roots organic grow (for the N) and Bloom. Added molasses and fish shit. Sprayed the water in long time to soak. Some of the colas are starting to tip over w weight. Had to secure one branch with a tie down. 1 more weeks to harvest more or less. Almost week 7.

Day: 103

+4

Seeing the fade more pronounced on 2-3 plants. Coming along well. Starting to smell like Chemdog in the house. Oh and Fuck Russia go 🇺🇦 Ukraine

Day: 102

+3

Watered this morning with fish shit and oreganism from roots organic and some kelp. Ph 6.4. 2 gallons total slow spray to oxygenate. 2/3 plants show late flower N fade and the third still greener. Buds are frostier on the plants with the fade too. Which may be a correlation of too much N still in flower in the greener plant? Will have to see. Otherwise healthy. Temps are holding high of 77-80. Low of 65-68f. Rh low high 30-50ish. Week 6/9 flower. Fuck Russia and Putin. Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦.

Day: 99

+1

Top dressed yesterday w sea bird guano, and worm castings as well as roots organic bloom Nutes and some Epsom salt. At ph 6.0. Want this watering to be a little acidic to get the P K going. Otherwise girls are frosting up well. Vertical growth slowing and buds fattening

Day: 97

Day after watering. Plain PH6.5 with Kelp extract for the micro nutrients. Doing well. Some lower canopy leaves dying off as normal. And Freya. My rescue kitty.

Day: 94

+2

Started week 5 of flower. Opened canopy up a little more today with another tie down. Lots of small pale buds in the center now exposed. This way I get similar SCROG effects without locking my plants into a net. A net would be better but I don’t have easy rear access. I can see the buds getting fatter and starting to connect in the long colas. I think that the sea bird guano I added last two feedings gave some of the burn but also really improved the quality of the flower. Yeah for Phosphorus! Also the nite burn doesn’t look like it is progressing. I made a small change to my fan. Moved it to below canopy and turned on humidifier again. It was down to .30 and my VPD was off. That would increase nute absorption which I don’t want. Let me know what you all think? Appreciate the grow community’s advice and comments. Oh and Go Ukraine. Fuck Putin. I served in the Cold War and was on the border when the Berlin Wall came down. Russians are still the same just different era. The soil meter is just a size reference for bud size.

Day: 93

+9

Big day of defoliation of dead leaves or those too small to matter. Also opened up canopy using tie downs but have to be careful as the stems are not as pliant in week 4. Noticed some slight nutrient burn and some dark green leaves probably from the nitrogen. One leave or two shows a Potassium deficiency which I’ve corrected in last 2 feedings. Seaweed helps with that. They should work their way through the excess N over next few waterings which will be plain water. I also added molasses and fish shit to charge up the soil. Cleaned up the floor. Did some general maintenance and turned it humidifier to take advantage of the drier air here. Fungus gnats under control with the yellow tape. Otherwise a clean grow.

Day: 93

+1

Checking out the canopy where I exposed more of the Interior. Yesterday the leaves and buds were pale. Today looks like they are starting to add more green from the new light penetrating. Nute tip burn still present in 2/3 plants so I’ll let them run with just plain water at the low range for more acidic absorption (K loves acidic). Stopped the humidifier and the rh ranges from 35-50. Kinda perfect for week 4/5 of flower. Frost on the sugars which is a characteristic of the Chemdog. Otherwise another very cold day in CT!

Day: 91

+4

Coming along fine. Some older leaves browning but overall very healthy.

Day: 88

+1

Starting week 4 of flower. Planning 9 weeks for this strain to mature. Starting to see the plant eat up that guano and use that P for those hairy pistils. Freya and Thor enjoying the view.

Day: 88

+1

Frost on the sugar leaves! Temp dropped over night to 63 and this morning the leaves a little frosty. Temps swings now purposefully lower. High of 75 and low around 65 if I can. To match fall weather in the tent.

Day: 87

+1

Pre watering and feeding. Today was a heavy feed. Worm castings. Fish bones. Sea bird guano and roots organic bloom. Also added fish shit and Epsom salts to the water. Had to use a fork to Pierce the crusty soil which happens mid grow. Then watered ph6.8. And covered the top layer with more FFOF

Day: 84

+2

Morning check. Watered yesterday and the girls are all praying to the light! Noticed some minor nute burn on leaf tips in lower canopy but not worried too much as the organic soil will compensate.

Day: 83

+1

A quick picture of the girls just at lights on. Praying for light. Have to water later today too. Rh dropped low overnight but that’s ok as we are in flower. Also posted a new study just coming out. Reported by Matt DeBacco of UConn. It answers the question about which type of plant training yields the most high quality THC. The answer is double topping and not defoliation or Lolly popping. Look up the presentation on YouTube. Would love your thoughts?

This is not my grow. This is my good friend whom I’m teaching how to grow. He retired from firefighting and needs a new hobby. Teaching him transplanting and soil amendment techniques. Notice the wet paper tower technique to hold the topsoil back while transplanting.

Just growing big. Love the nodes all starting to fill out with Guy Fieri hair! Little kitty keeping me company. Rh running low to high 30-60ish. Pretty normal.

Day: 79

Just growing. Week 2 of flower.

Day: 78

+3

Watered this morning. Fed them Sea bird guano 1-12-0 and Worm castings 1-0-0 and roots organic bloom 2-4-2. Should give just enough N and supply the early flower need for P. I admit I’m loving the slim sativa leaves and the phenotype. Temp is 68-80. Rh 40-55

Day: 76

Watering. Nothing more. Just a blissful 20 minutes talking to the ladies. Oh and my new rescue kitty. He/she (haven’t been able to determine sex yet) is getting along with my coon mix, Thor who is 22lbs.

Discovered that my heater went off in the night. Must have forgotten to reset the timer. Dropped to 60 but the girls seem to be doing well. Lots of bud sites forming on this ChemDog! Gonna feed heavy P-K tomorrow. Bat guano.

KIOS_Funky84

KIOS_Funky84 My temps drop to 52 when lights go out, I personally love the winter months for this reason. Aids in terp production and helps your girls turn purple naturally. I wouldn’t worry about it. Keep it green 👊🏻👍🏻

Caliban

Caliban Agreed. I’m not worried just pisses that I forgot to reset the heater.

Watered yesterday. Growing.

combatmedic81

combatmedic81 Looks good, but no trellis net?

Caliban

Caliban I don’t use one with this tent as I only have one access door due to cramped cellar. With a trellis I would have trouble moving and accessing the plants. If i use one it will be later once the colas start gaining real weight. I did LST and topping so they are lush and have lots of nodes.

combatmedic81

combatmedic81 I see. I was just thinking that is going to be some weight to support

Day: 72

Explosive growth since flipping Sunday. About 3” on my tallest girl. I think their roots are deep enough now to pull from the COM compost layer at the bottom of my soil. That is rich with lobstah and crab shells and fish bones. These are three very healthy plants and luckily i haven’t had any issues except for the standard FF fungus gnat presence.

Watered yesterday and looks like the ladies are getting taller! Next week is transition week to flower. That would be about 2 months in Veg which is my standard. Fed top dressing of Roots Organic Bloom and Base dressings with added fish bones. Pushing the N-P-K ratio to 2-12-6. They should become available in 5-7 days just in time for the flip. Comments and advice always appreciated

Day: 53

About a week or so before flipping. Want them to grow a bit more first. Broke a branch the other day by accident! Careless. But I tied it back with a tie and it should mend.

Day: 48

Doing well after LST this week. Watered yesterday with ph 6.7 and had to work to get it through the top crust. Uses a fork and misted the top layer first. Then about 1/2G per plant.

Day: 45

+8

Big day. Did lots of LST tie downs. Added my second COB LED which puts my wattage to a true 540 which will makes these girls thrive. Opened up the canopy too a little. Removed a few lower leaves. This is 5 days post transplant so they should be putting out lateral roots and discovering their new space rich with organics. Adjusted the humidifier to keep it around 50ish with outside rh of 25. So not bad. Still only feeding with Epsom Salt, kelp and fish shit since soil is pretty rich still.

puffpuffpass Nice healthy plants 🪴

Some pictures after watering w ph 6.7 and Epsom salt and Molasses. The ChemDog loves humidity so trying to keep it above .50 here in my winter grow. Temp around 75f. And 12” of snow this morning too.

Caliban

Caliban I’m LST them each day by bending and rubbing the branches until the are lateral. I might tie them down next week for more spread.

A new study was just published comparing LED full spectrum lighting to HPS. The data show LED produces more THC than HPS. +6%. That settles the tech debate. Matt DeBaaco presented the data recently.

lettuce97

lettuce97 leds for the win for sure

Caliban

Caliban Makes a difference. If HOS gives you say 20% THC the LED full spectrums will give you 25%. For me that has been the game changer. Matt also says flushing and lights out before dark are myths. Flushing only needed for salt build up during hydroponics. Not necessary for organics. Lights out before dark doesn’t do anything in fact keep on the lights until harvest continues trichomes production to the end. Go figure.

Transplanted yesterday to 10g cloth pots. Went well. Nice root development. Timed the 1g for three weeks which is about when the soil depletes. The electric oil circulating heater is the key for this winter grow. No stress so far. Watered lightly.

Day: 33

Getting ready to transplant. Readying the 10G pots. Charging the soil with 1/3 coast of Maine compost on bottom amended with some P-K so that when it matures and flowers the roots will hit the rich minerals. Top 2/3 FFOF with some amendments Including Epsom salts, bat guano and worm castings. Everything amended with oreganism from roots organic. Water the girls in the 1g w some fulvic acid and ph of 6.3.

stick e fingerz

stick e fingerz

stick e fingerz The girls are nice and green for sure 👍

Caliban

Caliban I tried it last grow and it allowed me to run a long time with just some top dressings and teas to charge the soil. Hard to over feed organically so the roots just take what they need or go deeper when deficient. 10g cloth pots are key

We are through the ph issue and the plants are thriving. Getting ready to transplant later this week so will keep the organic soil and charge it a few days early.

I am noticing some discoloration. Some lime green on the new growth. My first thought is Ph imbalance since I added some water recently and didn’t test it. Got lazy. Thoughts?

Caliban

Caliban Since the last few watering I’ve ph corrected to 6.3 to 6.7 range. Otherwise they are 2 weeks post transplant in FF OF. So they should have another week before soil depletion. Also rH is running dry between 28-45. Even with a humidifier there might be some VPD issues. Heat is decent with my heater running between 70-80f

stick e fingerz

stick e fingerz Looks good man can it just be energy making them look lime green

Julian505$

Julian505$ how much water do you use each time you water the 10gal?

Caliban

Caliban Depends on the stage of the plant. I start by spraying the surface to make sure that the water will absorb properly and not channel down to quickly. For my current plants at day 23 I am probably adding 1 liter every third day.

Caliban

Caliban That is 1g. For 10g in my last run at maturity I was probably 4 liters a plant.

Day: 22

Growing like they should. Just watered with some Epsom Salt and Kelp Extract at 6.6ph

lettuce97

lettuce97 can i ask what the pros of epsom salt and ke?

Caliban

Caliban Sure. ES provides Cal/mg. And it is natural. The plants love it. I usually add about a tsp/ gallon and dissolve it. I’ve been using it for years for organic gardening and cannabis loves it. Buy the Epsom salts at the gardening shop near you.

Caliban

Caliban I also add some dolomite lime to the soil mix before planting. About 2tsp/ 5G pot.
