Banana Kush

September 2024

My Banana Kush seedling has been growing for 5 days now. Since I’m still learning, I’m trying a mix of outdoor and indoor growing. During the day, I let it soak up the natural sunlight outdoors, and when the sun no longer hits the area, I move it indoors to my grow setup. I’m also making sure the temperature and humidity stay within the recommended range, and I’m being cautious not to overwater. Excited to see how it continues to develop!

Day: 38

Today, I removed a few leaves that were shading the lower part of the plant. It’s looking good so far! Does anyone know how I can estimate how many more days until it enters the flowering stage?

boofpac Looks like she already started flower. Looks good

igorveron Thanks dude!

Day: 36

I’ve moved my Chinese LED panels closer to the plant, and it’s been growing quickly. A few days ago, I did an apical topping, and it’s responding well. I don’t have an elaborate setup—just a small bathroom with two Chinese LED panels, an exhaust fan, and a regular fan. I’m learning as I go before investing more into this hobby.

Pottimus

Pottimus You are doing excellent my guy on my first grow as well and your training looks amazing, maybe throw another trellis in but those stretching problems would disappear with better lights for sure

Pottimus

Pottimus Also stretching could always stem from genetics, no pun intended

Day: 30

Today marks 1 month since my Banana Kush started growing. Two days ago, I watered with just plain water, and today, I’ll be reintroducing the fertilizers. The plant has grown a lot since I did the apical topping 5 days ago. Now, I’m looking for advice on whether I should start some LST (low-stress training) or just let the plant continue as is until flowering. Any tips would be appreciated!

vwjunkee I would say - top lower next time and top again on the next node that comes from each, will 4x your yield

combatmedic81 Also if you can increase your light intensity your nodes would probably be spaced closer together.

B0NGToker 👆👆yes, increase that intensity if possible

Day: 26

Today, I performed the apical topping on my Banana Kush and also removed 4 smaller leaves that had burn spots from my earlier mistakes. Thankfully, it looks like those issues have been resolved, as the new leaves are growing in healthier. Yesterday, I watered the plant again, and from now on, I’ll be reducing the frequency to every 2 days.

Today marks day 25 of my Banana Kush grow. I started using fertilizers 5 days ago and have already done two waterings with them. The plant seems to be responding well so far, and I’m excited to see how it continues to grow!

Today is day 15, and the Banana Kush is developing nicely. The plant seems to be thriving in its current setup, and the mix of outdoor sunlight and indoor grow light is working well so far. I’m continuing to monitor the environment and keeping a close eye on its growth. Excited to see its progress in the coming days!

MeloStayMellow

MeloStayMellow Do you always water the leaves?

igorveron I’m still learning how to grow, and I made the mistake of misting the leaves. The climate was really dry, so I thought it would help, but I realized it was a mistake and have since stopped spraying the leaves.

Day: 10

Today marks day 10 of my Banana Kush grow. Yesterday, on day 9, I transplanted the plant into a larger pot because the roots had started growing out of the bottom of the smaller pot. I used a mix of sphagnum peat moss with perlite, and the other half is mycelium humus. The transplant went smoothly, and I’m excited to see how the plant responds to its new space!

Day: 5

I’m currently using a substrate mix of 50% sphagnum peat moss and 50% perlite. When I transplant to a larger pot, I’ll be mixing this with 50% mycelium humus.
