Mac Donut clones

Fall 2024

Was gifted 2 clones (on the left) on September 10 and that day put them into 1 gallon pots. They a only about 8 inches tall but man have they taken off in 18 days.I have never heard of the strain but apparently it’s a quad A strain whatever that means. It gets some pretty good reviews online. Today I move them into 5 gallon fabric pots in Promix HP nourished by Gaia Green organics under Photontek 465 W Pro at 75% power. For the purpose of this journal I’m not gonna comment on the two small plants on the right. For interest sake, the one in the 2 gallon pot is a Crown Royale by a Crop King Seeds and the little seedling is a Cali OG Kush by Crop King.

Potassium bicarbonate spray seems to be working on the white pot mildew . I think I’m ahead of it. Unfortunately as a result, I’m gonna have to give these a three stage bud wash so my conscious is clear when I enjoy them. From what I’ve read this solution is considered organic farming and should rinse off quite easily. Not out of the woods yet, but looking good, about 10 days to go or so before the chop

Day: 67

Flower

This is first day of week six of flower. Since my last update, I have been battling this white powder and mildew. The potassium bicarbonate seems to work well, but when I have it under control in one area, it seems to pop up in another particularly on one plant. It’s a constant battle and these girls are really doing well, bud formation wise. If this keeps up, I’m probably gonna junk the whole grow and start again. Not sure yet. Half of me wants to keep going and see what I can salvage out of it. The thought of smoking white powdery mildew really does grim me out. being growing for seven years and this is never happened to me before.

StinkyBudz

StinkyBudz That’s something I’ve avoided also, but know it will happen. What has been the temp and humidity % in your tent?

Tonyd133

Tonyd133 Temp mids 70’s, RH 45-55. Tent is quite full though so there’s a lot of foliage overlapping and I think that might be my problem.

Tonyd133

Tonyd133 Actually, it was quite full, but I’ve thinned it out quite a bit since the problem arose

Day: 59

Flower

Well, it’s been several days now and I have to say I’m very happy with the potassium bicarbonate solution… so far. After removing the few leaves that were affected, I gave them all a good misting on both sides of their leaves. I actually removed the plants from the text and sprayed and wiped the whole inside of the tent and equipment. I thought since I caught it early enough, and I made an extra effort, I would have a better chance of stopping it in its tracks. Four days later, no sign of white powdery mildew. Fingers crossed…

Day: 55

Flower

Well, yesterday I woke of up to a disturbing circumstance. Went to check on the girls and noticed white powdery spots on a few leaves. I am at the end of week 3 of flower and everything was going just fine. I’ve been growing for a few years, but I don’t recall ever seeing this before. So after my panic settled down, I did some quick research and I found that a potassium bicarbonate solution is good at treating this. Wondering what some of you out there think about it? Anyway, pulled them out of the tent and gave a close inspection and removed whatever leaves found that were contaminated then sprayed on both sides of leaves as well as wipe down the entire tent with the solution. Thoughts?

.

. Em1 helps as well as doing extra defoliation for airflow. I got it once in the winter from the tent being hot while the outside was so cold making rh spike, I sprayed a peroxide/water mix but I was in veg. I also spaced out my watering since it’s a high humidity issue , if you can I’d suggest adding in more fans and silica to their diet.

Tonyd133 Will do, thanks

Day: 49

Flower

Light is as high as I can go. Hopefully these things have finished their stretch. Pretty full tent, I may have to do some super cropping, but I don’t want to at this stage if they keep growing taller. I decided against using a trellis net as I find a major pain in the ass come harvest time

Flip to 12/12 today. Worries about running out of room as they are getting quite tall.
