Haven’t done an update, but we’re still flushing. The cubes are hardy, resilient and simple to work with. I only rehydrated once and I found just misting and completely sealing the bag work just fine. Maybe soaking lets it flush more frequent and faster, but that’s a bigger risk for contamination vs the hydrogen peroxide and water misting and fanning daily. The fruits are becoming massive and hearty but less of them. Maybe it needs a full rehydration dunk?

Xander Kaliyuga Hey man, I have a question retaining my substrate sterilization and what I can do it in. Is it fine if I sterilize my coir substrate in my monotub? Cool it for 12 hours with lid on but venting through the vent patches, then mix innoc. grain with the substrate? Then re-lid and put up?

ZaddyXL Depends how you’re sterilizing. I dumped really hot water on my coco in an aluminum pot, just to ensure it wouldn’t melt. You could use mason jars and bake them too. Main thing is the heat and making sure the container won’t melt when you have it up to temperature and maintain it. I wouldn’t be worried about squeezing and transferring it when it’s cool, just make sure you use gloves and clean everything well before you handle it. Also, the hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle will help eliminate anything lingering when you spray the top at the end.

Xander Kaliyuga I took reference from this. Ended up finding my answer.. only thing is I want to do one part of my jar in a sterilite bin with sealed lid and half my jar in a smaller container for multiple flushes.
