PEV Seeds grow - Blueberry Auto
PEV Seeds/GrowDiaries.com grow challenge
Propagated in Purple Cow starter mix in a 10x20 propagation kit with a heat mat under an 18 watt 6400K 1080 lumen T5 fluorescent bulb. Lights on 18/6. UPDATE: July 10, 2021-Transplanted her to a 5 gallon fabric pot in a mix of fresh soil and Purple Cow IndiCanja living organic soil and put her about 30 inches under a Maxsisun PB4000 LED light on 20/4. I’m growing her for a photo contest on growdiaries.com sponsored by PEV Seeds (from Spain). They sent me 3 seeds for free and this is the first one I’m trying. The other 2 are photoperiod and my tent is set up for autos right now. Blueberry Autoflowering is an automatic flowering and feminized cannabis strain. This is the auto version of the legendary Blueberry, a hybrid with clear indica dominance, beautiful colors and spectacular taste. This plant was the first of the "Blue" cannabis family, from which very good hybrids have emerged, such as Blue Cheese, Blue Widow or Blue Dream. Now you can also enjoy it in automatic format. In general features can be considered a resistant plant, very fast in all processes, good production, and to some extent tasty and powerful, especially considering that it is automatic flowering. It grows without stretching too much, compact, forming a very dense structure, shaped like a fir tree. Its stems are very strong, to be able to support the weight of the buds in bloom. During its maturation it is a real spectacle, with shades of blue, red, violet, purple, lilac, and mixtures of other beautiful colors. This is a cross between the DJ. Short's Blueberry with a Blueberry Auto, so it can be considered a back-crossing. It was made this way to try not to lose the features that made the original Blueberry famous all over the world, especially its effect, its colors and the great taste of berries it contains. Thanks to the work of the breeders in the selection of each generation we can say that we have achieved what we wanted. Our auto version of Blueberry barely contains the ruderalis genes that cause autoflowering, the rest come from the line that stabilized the great Daniel John Short. In indoor cultivation we recommend a pot of at least 2.6 US gal (10 litres) so that its development is not slowed down. It is a good idea to germinate in a 0.8 US gal (3 liters) pot and after 20 days approximately transplant to the final one, of 3, 4 or 5 (11, 15 or 20 liters) would be ideal. Its best photoperiod is 18 hours of light and 6 of darkness daily, or 20 of light and 4 of darkness. If you have no experience with transplants you can also germinate in the final pot, but in that case you don't have to soak the whole pot until the plant is at least 0.82 ft. (10 inches or 25 cm) high. To get the best indoor production you can put 16 Blueberry Autoflowering per 3x3ft (square meter). In outdoor cultivation you can get several harvests a year, especially in places with a temperate or warm climate. In the northern hemisphere the best season for its cultivation goes from May to September, when there are more hours and incidence of the sun. When growing outdoors it is better to plant in a larger pot than indoors, if you can 6.6 or 8 US gal(25 or 30 litres). Grown indoors it does not need more than 10 weeks of complete cycle to be completely mature. In outdoor cultivation may require one more week, depending on weather and other factors. Outdoors it may cycle more quickly when enviromental conditions are ideal, usually in the spring and summer months. Its production is not bad considering the speed of its cultivation. If you grow indoors with 600w HPS you can get 400 to 500 grams per square meter, even more in hydroponics or aeroponics. In outdoor cultivation it is easy for each plant to give you more than 1.76 oz (50 grams), especially in spring and summer crops, which can exceed 3.5 oz (100 grams) per plant. It’s taste is the trait that gives the variety its name, for some it is their favorite taste, and they only want this one... The truth is that it is delicious, its telltale aroma already anticipates what you will find when its smoke passes through your taste buds. When you inhale it, it enters very fresh, sweet and earthy, but the nuances that remain in the mouth are clearly fruity, like a berries fruit salad that explodes in your mouth and remains for a long time. On a psychoactive level it is stimulating but does not accelerate or create paranoia, but on a physical level the effect is very noticeable. It's perfect to enjoy at night, relaxes a lot, but contains just the right brain activity to keep you awake. At Pevgrow we are proud to offer the best selection of marijuana seeds in the market at the most competitive price. And in our catalogue could not miss a classic of cannabis as is the Blueberry, both in its feminized replica, as the autoflowering version. Day: 93
This will be my final update on here as I’ve been sponsored by Prescription Blend nutrients and Tastebudz Seeds and need to focus on posting to GrowDiaries and Instagram. Thank you to all who offered support and kind advice for the past year. I chopped this plant after 48 hours of darkness and hung her up to dry. The wet weight was 1,434.29 g/51.22oz/3.2lb. Top cola was 102 grams and heaviest branch was 168.69 g. I don’t have the dry weight yet because she’s still drying. Final dry weight will be posted at GrowDiaries when available. ☮️💜😮💨😮💨

I gave her a gallon of cold water with Prescription Blend nutrients, CalMag and Purpinator tonight. Those will most likely be the last nutrients that I give her. I’m on the lookout for amber trichomes but they seem to still be mostly milky. Getting closer!

Day: 76
She got a gallon of cold water early this morning when the light came on. I pinched off a bunch of her larger fan leaves. My fingers still smell amazing an hour and a hand washing later. Tomorrow or the next day I’ll take some microscope shots.

She’s looking fantastic. Frosty on top of frosty. Branches getting droopier. She’s almost dry but I’ll probably wait until the light goes on early tomorrow morning to water her.

stick e fingerz I’m watering every 2 days not sure what method you use but hmmm interesting
QueenOfTheKind I don’t have a method other than to let them dry out between waterings. When I first started growing overwatering was my main issue so I’ve been trying not to do that. I used to water every 2 days but these bigger plants get droopy before 48 hours go by so they seem to need it every 36 hours. My other big one (OG Kush) got droopy after 24 hours when she started stretching. I try to check them before the light goes off and again when it comes back on because I know that roots grow during darkness. Am I doing something wrong? I try my best to “listen” to the plants and go by their schedule and not mine.
Peng I had SO much anxiety on my first grow about watering, this year I got a soil moisture meter stick and it’s an absolute game changer. I can now tell how much of the pot is dry/moist/wet without guesswork. Honestly it’s so useful and only cost around 10€.

QueenOfTheKind When I switched to the Prescription Blend nutrients the size and yield of my plants literally doubled. I love the stuff! It makes it look like I know what I’m doing! 😭😂 My early girls were pretty but only got about 2 feet tall. As soon as I switched, the difference was obvious. Much taller plants, more branches and bud sites, many many more (and fatter) pistils leading to huge, fat, dense buds and higher (like double) yields. Sorry that I sound like a commercial. 😀
QueenOfTheKind Thanks Troy 🍻

Overall she’s looking great. Lots of white pistils everywhere. Then at the end of my inspection I found one orange pistil (last photo). It’s possible that I touched it yesterday by accident. Should I be worried that she was exposed to male pollen? Should I remove it? It’s the only one on the whole plant but I guess I’ll have to stay vigilant. I gave her 1.25 gallons of water with Prescription Blend nutrients and Purpinator this morning. Any thoughts about the orange pistils are welcome!
QueenOfTheKind Thanks. Do you think she was pollinated by male pollen or by me accidentally touching the pistil? I know that you do a lot of pollinating so that’s why I’m asking. Is there a way to tell the difference? Should I remove it? Sorry to ask all these questions, I’m just a little concerned that she was exposed to male pollen.
QueenOfTheKind Ok, cool. Thanks for the info and support. I feel better now. I always heard that 1 male plant could ruin your females from a mile away so I figured I was screwed. Guess I need to do some research on pollination. ☮️💜😮💨😮💨
QueenOfTheKind Very cool. Love learning something new every day! Thanks again and happy growing to you too! 🌱🪴🍃🌳🎉🎊🔥

QueenOfTheKind I like it but it’s getting too expensive so I’ve been reusing it by mixing it with soil made from old compost from my friend’s farm. I always seemed to have fungus gnats with it though, even when I let it dry out between waterings.
growin4thepham I've had same issue with any compost I've ever brought into the mix as well. So this run I'm only using bagged stuff to see if I still get them damn gnats
QueenOfTheKind I’m sure it was my own fault and they seem to be under control now. I had to struggle against overwatering when I first started growing, but I also spoke with others who had the same fungus gnat issue w/ the Purple Cow. I do like the stuff but it gets expensive and seems like a waste to just chuck it so I’m trying to remix/reuse it now. I like their starter mix too.
