Day: 60
Added a gallon of balanced nutes, measuring at just under 5.7PH. The solution was a little high in what was in the bucket already, 6.6PH. It is now sitting at 6.1 so I might drop it a little tomorrow if it is still high. Also will top it this weekend. The rooter seems to working well and so it is time to clone this plant.

Day: 57
The Hydro Plant is growing noticeably throughout my 8 hour work day. I have been taking a picture in the morning and another about 12 hours later…there is a marked growth between the two. Finally getting the plant to stretch for the light and the side stems are becoming prominent in the openings. Will be building a second bucket this weekend, but I might hold off launching the next indoor bean until this one has gone through flowering. I can clone a stem first and get two plants going at once so that they will never be lonely :) I have two more seeds, one for outside and the other for inside. I am starting the third bean now in my rooter. This will get a run for solid roots and then be planted in the ground. Things are finally warming up here and winter feels like it has lost its grip on us.

Day: 55
Well, the Soil Plant went outside to start that phase of its life. The soil I used developed a ton of soil mites and so I chose to replant it in the ground. The lower leaves died off quickly and so I really hope that the plant makes a good go in its new digs and reaches for the stars! To give it a fighting chance, the roots are in a 5 gallon gopher cage and there is a 15 gallon one over the top to keeps curious rabbits at bay. :) The Hydro Plant is doing great! At 3 weeks, I am happy with its results. It is being fed medium concentration Masterblend with TM-7 added for trace. My PH is a little high, so might add some vinegar to lower it a little. Any reason to wait for the GH PH Down to arrive? Did raise the light to as high as I can get it and now the plant is reaching for it…which is what I want. Will top at week 4 and start to train it. Will be building a second bucket this weekend, same basic design. This system has worked very well for me and it is easy enough to put one together. The single plant just looks so lonely :(

Hard to believe the Hydro Plant is a rock star so far!

Day: 42
Found a drainage issue with the Soil Plant, fixed it and letting it dry out some now. The drain holes in the bottom of the pot got clogged. Noted when I moved the plant. Punched it clear and it seems to be ok now. The Hydro Plant is looking happy and now has several strong roots into the slurry. It is growing daily, enjoying watching its progress. This bucket has grown peppers and tomatoes well and now cannabis can be added to its repertoire! The last two seeds will get sprouted and spend a few weeks indoors while the area of there growth will take place is set up with root cages to protect from gophers.

Day: 40
After a grueling three days without running water due to a broken pipe, we can finally focus on other things…FIXED! The Hydro Plant seems to be happy in its bucket. This bucket has been around for a while so I replaced the air stones and it is working for yet another grow. I have grown peppers in it up until now. The Soil Plant is starting to shoot its side stems and I will top it in a few days. Want that top to stretch a little bit so I can root it. Why waste?

mystrain420 _@eaegifts You should raise your lights some so that it stretches out before you top and also the Dwc plant looks as if the lights too close so that’ll help her stretch also. Also If you can you should cover the rockwool with the pebbles so the light+water won’t make that algae, it’s a good idea to start them in the cubes then transplant to the Dwc after the stem stretches some. Good luck with them 👍🏾👍🏾
Day: 38
Things are moving now for the hydro plant. Root made it into the reservoir and now the plant looks like it it time to grow! Looking forward to this one’s progress. The soil plant is doing very well and is now starting to grow its side branches out. Things looking nice in the garden.

kushkaity Thanks! Now, to top or not…might let the soil Christmas Tree and will cut a few of the lower branches for cloning.
stick e fingerz After 3 nodes of 5 finger leaves 🍃 is when I typically top 🤙

Day: 37
Both plants are doing well, the comparison photo is two days worth of growth. I am satisfied that the roots are starting to spread in the soil grow. The hydro plant is staring to get into the growth and the clipped leaf did not do too much damage to it. The roots are still contained in the net pot, but this plant should take off once they start into the bucket. Watering day! Will be feeding the soil grow Masterblend today, the hydro grow is at half strength Masterblend in the reservoir and I will not be changing that this week, no need yet. Update…wrote just a little too soon, the tap root is out the bottom of the media!!! This is where that plant starts to take off. Once it starts building a root mass, I will drop the top watering cycle down to twice a day. Right now the top waterer runs every two hours for two minutes to keep the rock wool block and clay pellets moist. That will soon not be needed.

Day: 34
Looks like the transplant shock is passed for the soil plant. The hydro plant is now starting to get some color. Still has a ways to go, but it looks like it will make it nicely.

Day: 32
Well it looks like it is waking up! The set of leaves that basically stayed static for two days are a full set now so my guess is the roots are starting to awaken to the extra space. Per a comment on the last update, I am only watering once the soil is dry to a depth of a few inches. One dose fertilizer/two straight waterings. I am using Masterblend, 2.0g MB/1.0g Epsom/2.0 Calcium Nitrate/1.0g BioAG TM-7 per gallon of well water.

Day: 30
This plant is being slow to develop. Added some Masterblend to the outside of the soil area to coax the roots to expand. Still doing ok. Second one is going into the hydro bucket.

mystrain420 _@eaegifts She looks great, I’d say the light is too close. I run plants that way for bush them move the light for stretch. Her tight nodes is why I assume that ☝🏾
Caliban Agree. Maybe add more breeze to stimulate stem growth too?
kushkaity Going to get a better fan, the stand one I have is interfering with the reflector. Did raise the light about 5”, will work with it more when I get home from work. The plant did grow a bit over the day yesterday! Maybe the roots were just in shock from the transplanting.

Day: 26
Transplanted the plant today. Usually I would have shifted to a 1 gallon and then the 3 gallon…decided to skip the 1 gallon this time. This is a soil that a local grower mixes for his plants and all of his are monsters. Set it in the bucket just to keep the drain water from going everywhere and it will not interfere with the light at all. The plant is on 20/4 light cycle under the 600w HPS bulb…my MH bulb burned out after 5 grows on it. Root structure was beautiful when I pulled it from the small sprouting container. Looking forward to where it starts to go! Ordered a gallon of CNS17 Grow, should be delivered next week some time. Have to say the Masterblend is actually doing great. I have used it for two grows and had awesome results and this third time looks just as good. The CNS17 is simply easier to work with. Measure out the amount and stir it in…MB requires weighing, dissolving into a slurry and then mixing with the proper water. Guess it really is not that much work.

Day: 23
Getting ready to be moved into the new tent.

Day: 20
New tent will be delivered today, the heat in the old one is way too high…but the plant is doing okay with it. Will set the new tent up correctly with ventilation. Water from our well for the whole weekend, will add some more nutrients tomorrow.

Day: 16
It seems to like the 400w bulb and I started feeding Masterblend nutrients, veg recipe. It is in the old tent still, cannot wait till the new one arrives.

Day: 15
Moved the plant under my 400w MH 18/6, about 17” away. Felt the 250w had done its job getting it started.

Day: 13
Seems to be doing well, will be shifted it to 400w MH in the next week once my new tent I ordered arrives.

stick e fingerz Nice 👍
Nana254 What nutrients do you use??
kushkaity Usually CNS17, but I used what I had left on my fruit trees so Masterblend for the moment.

Day: 12
For the grow, I am starting the plant under my 250w, but am setting up my dual build reflector. It has 400w and 600w bulbs on separate ballasts. It has served me very well with a large metal halide and smaller HPS at the same time for 1000w of broad spectrum light. The 250w is my sprouting light only. Our plan is to sprout the three sibling seeds when the freezing weather moves along for three outdoor plants.

Another day…looks like it is about to take off!

Day: 5
Had to rescue the plant when strong winds knocked over the tent on the patio. The sprouting tray it was in fell and the plant was left exposed. The transplant was immediate and there does not appear to be any undue signs of stress.

Day: 4
In a tent with a 250w MH lamp. Still in the sprouting tray. Will wait for the second set of leaves proper before transplanting to coco.
