Last Grow of 2024

First Harvest of 2025

Trouble germinating. This bean soaked for over 60 hours. Showed minimal signs of germination. As a last ditch attempt at growing a viable plant the bean was gently placed in a prepared soil bed. It was planted with the white barely visible tap root ordinated down. The bean was then lightly covered with 1/8 inch of soil. The bean was planted in a 5 gallon fabric container. The soil medium was ProMix HP.

Day: 34

Some of the larger fan leaves have been removed to allow for the better penetration of light. Each of these leaves were inspected on both sides for any insect activity or disease. Little or no insect activity or damage!!!

RoMag Thanks PB

Day: 30

I continue to remove the top set of the fan leaves to allow for more light penetration to the bottom leaves of the plant. Also, the two leaves that were removed were inspected top and bottom for any signs of insect activity. No signs of any damage, and no signs of pests infestation.

Day: 29

I removed some lower limb shoots (kind of like lollipop), and some fan leaves. This was done to shape the plant and to prevent lower growth from forming a mold or fungus on the leaves. She was feed 1/2 gallon of Flower Fuel. This time I was able to find the correct size measure scoop to minimize the chance of nutrient damage.

Day: 27

I have been removing large fan leaves that block light from the lower leaves of the plant. This also allows them to be inspected for insect activity and damage. Initially I was worried about Red Spider Mites and While Fly. . I thought that, I had seen some White Fly activity and when inspecting the underside of the leaves is when the mites were first noticed. The plan is to just keep a diligent monitoring of the grow tent.

Just a picture for the end of 2024. She’ll be a monster busy bushy bushman in 2025.

Day: 23

Two of the larger fan leaves were removed to allow for better light penetration to the lower leaves. She for the most part is done with being watered from the top. From this point forward water and soluble nutrients will be feed from the bottom catch basin using the “wicking” method.

tresodaman What does bottom feed do

drowziee

drowziee @tresodaman if your top soil is wet but your bottom soil is dry you can do what’s called bottom feeding which is just watering nutrient water from the bottom for the roots to soak up and drink

drowziee

drowziee Instead of the top

Day: 14

The lower fan leaves and the lower bottom branches were removed. They were coming in contact with the soil surface. They appeared to have some insect damage on the underside of the leaves. I suspect Red Spider Mites are White Fly. The leaves were treated with Neem oil and after 30 minutes the plant leaves were watered with plain water by sprinkling them from the top. The soil was also treated. The inside of the grow tent was sprayed with Permethrin 10%. The plan is to pay better attention to this issue.

Zer0Ping0

Zer0Ping0 I only see two tiny pin hole size spots that might be mites. Looks more like too little or too much fertilizer.

Zer0Ping0

Zer0Ping0 Omg stay away from permethrin 10% the bottle you snagged off amazon….. every insect that will attack your canna if you’re in the states will be impervious to pure permethrin. I found a lot of success with beneficial insects and if that’s not your style get some arber yellow and purple bottle (insecticide and herbicide ones) mix them together and foliar spray every seven days and you’ll be fine.

RoMag

RoMag I only spray the interior of the grow tent as a preventative measure against pests. Also, I hang a pest strip sold on Amazon for about $16. They last 90 days.

Day: 13

The lower fan leaves were removed, along with the next set of leaves or branches. This was done because they were coming into contact with the soil surface when the plant was at rest. I believe this became issue for White Fly larvae and easy access for Red Spider Mites. She was sprayed lightly with Neem oil. The soil was treated with a systemic compound to deal with any eggs or larvae in the soil. After 30 minutes she was irrigated by sprinkling plan 6.5 ph water from above. The plant is to remove all the two plants and clean the inside of the grow tent and to then treat it with Permethrin 10% on the inside and around the exterior.

Day: 11

I trimmed the tip off of one of the bottom leaves due to unknown issue. I believe it was a chemical burn from when the inside of the grow tent was sprayed with pyrethrum 10% for the prevention of insects. Red spider mites, white fly, etc. I have found that spraying the interior surfaces of the grow tent for prevention is much more effective than trying to treat the issue of insect pests on the plants at a later time.

She was given 16oz of Fish & Seaweed Max, a Cal-Mag. The mixture was made of 15ml/1g of the Fish & Seaweed Max; and 3ml/1g of the Cal-Mag solution.

I removed the bamboo support stake, as it is no longer needed for seed location and seedling support. She is currently self sustaining. No fluids given today.

combatmedic81 Give her a slight breeze with a fan and the stem will strengthen

Day: 5

Approximately 16oz of chloride free water was given. The growing medium has remained moist due to watering from the bottom. This plan is to give some “fish emulsion” on day 10.

Day: 4

After having an issue with germination, which I believe came from having immature poor quality beans, this plant is growing into a viable seedling.

Rastaman 2.0 We’re did you order your permanent markers ?

RoMag

RoMag I purchased 10 Permanent Marker Autos from MSNL. The 10 seeds, appeared to look premature. Thee of them just should have never been shipped. I contacted MSNL asking if anyone else reported having an issue with germination. I am not a big fan of what you have to do to document your germination process in pictures. It is not worth my time and effort. I just purchased 10 more of the Permanent Marker Autoflower and this time all the seeds looked healthy and viable. As far as, the two plants that grew to harvest the plants were super potent and between the two plants I had 192 grams. The plant above is from the first group of seeds. I have some soaking getting ready to plant as soon as they show signs of life.
