First Grow

Unknown Strain

First grow with unknown strain, amateur grower using nothing but natural light until May 22nd then starting using a grow light; not using anything special just pots/soil/water and light. I want to see what type of outcome comes from all natural (except light)

Day: 154

Out of the full first batch and then giving some away I ended up with 2 females, the larger one has a fruity smell to it and the smaller one is an earthy smell. Light cycle 12 Day - 12 Night 2 Weeks 2 Days Advice welcome!

Day: 110

I started with 5 plants and ended up with only 2 females, they started flowering so Im switching the light so I can harvest my first and second batch together bc they are not to far apart. All Im doing is watering and watching them.

Day: 84

So on June 7th I started 18 hours light and 6 hours dark and yesterday I have gone back to 24 hours of light, I was also playing around with LST but it wasn’t for me so maybe some other time; I should start seeing the sex soon well hopefully lol. ADVICE IS WELCOME!

Day: 75

Starting today I have increase darkness from 4 hours of darkness to now 6. I have also had a set back, leaving the window opened next to the plants has caused a few spider mites to intrude to my plants, so if you see leaves that look eaten its bc it was them; I’m hoping I got them all bc I haven’t seen any for a couple days. Wish me luck that they are all gone! - Light is 18 hours a day from 4am until 11pm. - Dark is 6 hours which is 11pm until 4am.

Untamegorilla31 Why do u give it darkness while its still Small? Why not just leave light on until your ready to flower?

neek247 Beleive it or not they will be in flower mode the end of June, im slowly increasing darkness to see if it changes grow bc im not seeing more changes yet.

Tres4_growsloud Good luck with the mites ., seems like you got them though 👍🏾 .. what did you use?

Day: 73

+1

Transplanted some plants into bigger pots and replaced the orange broken pot, a plant didn’t survive another batch so i reused the pot for another plant; it was weird the seedling didn’t survive bc when i pulled it there was no roots at all on it so that would explain it. But as you can see they are growing bigger and more leaves are coming in, hopefully able to tell the sex soon.

Trimmed some dead leaves, and they are smelling nice!

Dankhalo Looking healthy. They may be stretching for more light though. Keeping it growing!!!!

neek247 Yah previously they were looking for light from the window, but as I noticed them stretching I decided to get some grow lights; I have a second set growing that has only had light from the grow lights so Im interested in seeing if they grow faster.

Day: 69

More leaves and growing more and more, transplanted one for the second time due to pot breaking; I couldn’t get down deep enough and some roots ripped but Im hoping it is strong enough to stay alive.

Day: 65

I have set the schedule timer to have lights come on just as the sun comes up around 4am and they turn off at 11pm, so roughly getting anywhere from 19-20 hours of light and 4-5 hours dark.

Tyhudson24 Your light is too far from the plant. That’s why they are stretching and kind of wimpy in the stalk

neek247 Thats why I have a second batch starting out, these previously before I got the light were seeking for sunlight from the window so they stretched to much; but not giving up on them just yet!

Tres4_growsloud Nice! U can give them more of a chance if u cut those two lower branches off and bury the stem up to as deep as you need

Not much change just continuing to grow, I clipped dead parts so all the good stuff goes to the thriving healthy part of the plants

Day: 63

I love seeing something different each day in these plants, tallest plant is almost 8 inches high.

Hrose2383 And not knowing what it is and what the plant will turn out to be is half the fun 😆 2 of mine are unknown stains and the other 2 are Runts and I can’t wait to see what they will be😁😁😁

neek247 I cant wait for it all to pay off!!

Hrose2383 Yep! Me too!

Day: 62

Light watering randomly over leaves when they look dry, I put a cup of water each in the soil on Tuesday and it leaked through the bottom so Im safe probably until Monday; I will put water in the soil if needed earlier. The light is usually one 17-24 hours and I will start cutting that down a bit later.

Day: 60

The light has amazing brought my plants back to life, with the exception of one that wasn’t doing to good even before transplanting them; lets just hope that it was a male ;) Added a cup of water to each to revive plus the light came in handy and this is less then 24 hours later, I now see the difference from sunlight to this grow light; I also lowered the light because the plants still seemed to stretch a bit.

Day: 59

As you can see the grow light is making a difference, those who are not progressing I will give them a couple days; if they dont come back to life I will remove and hope they were males lol

Day: 58

Finally I got a grow light, right now its not set up the best way but I will fix it a bit later; I just wanted to give my plants some light bc they really need it in vegetative mode. As you can see in just 24 hours they are starting to droop and that has got to change!

Burntbudd Love to see how they turn out, can’t wait for updates

neek247 me to!

Day: 58

This plant maybe a goner, Im going to give it a couple days of the new light source and see if it perks up; if not then its 1 down and 5 to go.

Plantboy What light did you get

neek247 I bought a grow light from amazon for $44 bucks (Canadian) called “YGROW LED Grow Light for Indoor Plants,YGROW Upgraded 75W Growing Lamp Light Bulbs with Exclusive Full Spectrum for Greenhouse Hydroponic Plants from Seeding to Harvest”. Hope that helps!

Day: 57

Transplanted plants due to issues with roots, as you can see some have suffered but I am hoping as soon as the grow light comes in they will pop back to life.
