Help needed from experienced cannabis growers

Day 75 flower

Is it okay to defoliate the fan leaves up this high in order to make room for light to get to the lower buds forking (colas)? 1st time grower. I’ve defoliated 3 times now little by little. I’m unsure if I can continue to do so or if the cannabis plant requires an abundance of fan leaves.
