Spider Mite Battle

F-ing Mites

I’ve battled spider mites since I got my clones from my caretaker. I’d think they were gone and controlled and BAM! Back again. I decided to start a grow log of my mite battle this time around. They say third times the charm.

Death

Day 148 (Week 22)

6 updates

Day: 148

Haven’t seen a mite before my last 2 updates. Separating new clones in new location/tent while flowering finished helped. Removing every extra fan leaf and using a defogger (and heat off... )....well. - I had a plant hermaphrodite and pollinate entire last crop. Which is ok - now I have a crap ton of seeds to start fresh! Photo of what fell off one plant while trimming.

Day: 49

Haven’t seen hatched eggs or mites ... or nothing but still going to azamax this weekend. Last treatment was with captain deadbug. Keeping air circulation up and lotsa room under plants to work (as pictured). These are all 5-6 feet tall (lower buds to be cut at branch and given on branch to friend at end of cycle). RHumidity at 45-50. Temp 78 with lights on. Working on finding a way to drop it when off as 2 600w HPS lights are really heating things up in here.

Cindy When I treat, I also soak the stems, fabric bag and soil. I spray down my walls and floor... I dunk my dehumidifier filter in a solution as well as wash it, and the fans, down with solution. Hood lights too. :) I change clothing prior to entering room and my clones are upstairs and away from chemicals. (No signs of anything on them but they will be dipped when transplanted to 1 gallon pot)

Lemiwinks

Lemiwinks Yikes! I hope I never get any of those little buggers.

Cindy I don’t wish the two spotted bastards in ANYONE. You can bring them in naturally - walk outside and then into your grow and carry them in. Those dew filled webs you see in the mornings - mites in hard. Just be vigilant - change or shower before you go into your grow room regardless but definitely shower upon getting home if in someone else’s grow room!!

Day: 42

Been treating and she filled back in nicely

Lemiwinks

Lemiwinks Congrats on the battle!

Cindy Haven’t seen anything in 2 weeks but azamax treatments still happening. Clones on a different level of house so I can make sure they are pest free.

Paulkeys If for sure you’re a woman I swear I will marry you dammmmmm

Day: 9

Growing back. Hit again with pesticide last night.

Cindy This is the after second major defoliage. There should not be a leaf left from time contaminated now. Ladybugs ordered but because of California fires they are 1. More expensive and 2. Going to take 2-3 weeks to get here. Which gives me plenty of time to hit them with three different “cures” and do another deep cleaning.

Day: 2

My first update/day 0 failed. Basically I stripped these babies down - fogged twice now and a foliage spray between. I will not have a leaf left that was in the spider mite infestation. I had webs popping up. It was BAD. Pulled a few flowering early because of it. Took down wall between flower and veg and treating entire basement. This will be a battle that I thought I won and was using ladybugs in case anything made it in or was left behind. Nope. Ladybugs died with first fog. Not starting flowering again until I know I got these little jerks under control.

Randuh Check to find a ladybug on hydro store they eat the spider mite and the egg Its the best solution

Cindy I put in 3000 ladybugs.... still got webs... I’ll use them for maintenance once it’s been hit many times with treatments. I let foliage get too out of hand I’m thinking. Didn’t do anything but water for 2 months while kids on summer break and at home.
