Day: 161

Two girls got their pretrim done. Another day or two for those two beauties. The third has a little longer to go so leaving her be for now. Used a 16.9 fl oz water bottle for size comparison of a few nuggies. So heavy they couldn’t hold themselves up. Some definitely green left but that’ll just get tossed into the trim bag for baked goods.

Ignore my dirty fabric pots, plan on tossing these ones out after this run, don’t think i am going to run 10 gallon pots anymore. Anyways… When they get too heavy they lean 🤣🤣.

blazinherb Less room. Can fit more in with 5 gallon pots. Just a personal call. Ill keep the pots incase i want a mother for awhile.

Missed the midweek nute feeding but the girls got a nice full dose feeding today. I love Blue Dream, one of my favorite strains from the first time i smoked it til today (roughly 15 years lol). Love the smell when it is in flower. Sooooo delicious 🤤.

So did something new this week. Normally i only nutrient feed once a week. This week i am stepping it up to twice a week. Middle and end of the week. Only about half of my normal weekly strength for the middle of the week feedings.

Day: 113

Defoliated the other night. First transition feeding tonight. Been letting the soil dry a lot with the sticky traps to battle the gnats. Seems like i am making good progress on that. Still have an extra tower fan in the corner to disturb the gnats on top of the soil.

Day: 108
Flowering
Girls flipped to 12/12 four days ago. Had a gnat infestation. First pest I’ve had to deal with.

PopsGarden420 How long do you plan to flower for? I guess it’s just watching the plant and whatever information you have.
blazinherb Blue dream flower time is 9 to 12 weeks.

Got a little chilly in there today. Was 59 degrees. Somehow the a/c got adjusted. Set back to 70. I took 6 clones the other day from the lowest branches. Five are left. Trying out a hydro cloner for research purpose. Planning on making a couple more cuts but will put those into rockwool.
combatmedic81 Cloner box should produce roots in 7-10 days , just change out the water every other day or so
blazinherb I added what clonex i had left in my shot glass plus some orca to the water when i first made my cuts. Still no rooting yet. Have been in the cloner since Sunday so 6 days. Had one’s stem get brown and squishy so i tossed that cut.
combatmedic81 Next time try veg a / veg b and heavy roots

zer0applied Did you switch them from DWC to soil?
blazinherb Yeah, i was having issues I couldn’t get straight so went back to soil. Going to revisit DWC later on but i was losing sleep over it.
zer0applied I always lose sleep over my grows. Literally have had nightmares before and umm…. I am not a crazy person. Pretty normal except for my plants 🪴. What kinds of issues did you run into? Did you use a kit? I plan on looking through your journal so if that info is there don’t bother answering it again lol. Love to learn. Especially from others mistakes!

Day: 40
Vegetating
So, decided to place these girls into some soil two days ago. I will revisit hydroponics but i need to get some more sleep at night.
SaviiBuds Soil is more forgiving for sure. I’m sure they are gonna be a little upset for a few days from the change. i bet they’ll start to bounce back soon!
Day: 31
Vegetating
Start levels pH 6.75 / ppm 37… After nutes pH 5.85 (without adjusting pH) / ppm 851… So i think i was having a lockout last few water changes. So i changed what order i add my nutrients and how long i allow the air stones to move the water around before adding the next. About half strength for grow nutes and full strength calmag/hydroguard/orca. Lets see if this works a little better for these girls.

Topped off the other night with some R/O with light grow nutrients added to help with the nitrogen deficiency but am i still in the trouble spot? Pictures are inside the tent and out under my skylight.

Day: 12

So couple days later and see this response. More roots. My levels are included. PH was on the rise since water change day. Might change the water tonight and switch back to R/O. I really do not like the idea of using my tap water but needed to experiment for one week. I lifted my lights up some, they were on 100% power and too close.

Day: 9
Vegetating
Did a water change today. Switched from my R/O to straight tap with nutrients added. PH’d to 5.5 lets hope they respond better to this.

Day: 8
Vegetating
I hand top water these girls at least once a day. They stay in humidity domes I’ve made from plastic bottles. Humidity stays about 80% while in the domes. I top water as needed with R/O water. Still running the first batch of water with light nutrients in. The levels i have in this update were done right as i got home from work. I PH my water daily i feel like. I test my water twice a day and at night i PH down if needed. I typically drop it back down to 5.8-6.0 highest it has gotten was 6.7 before i did my daily checks. Side note yes there is a definite defective plant going. Im letting her go to see what happens. Which she’s the only one without roots exposed yet. She is also a few days behind the other girls.

ig:@eaegifts Hey growmie here’s a few tips if you don’t mind the help. Firstly-they’re all deficient, you need to up your feed. The reason you have to ph constantly is due to under feeding, in dwc if the ph keeps rising it’s because they’re eating all the nutes fast. Second- the domes aren’t needed or helpful at this size, they’re actually setting you back. Third-only top feed with water from in the res NOT ro water, top feeding ro is helping to deplete them of nutrients and it’s watering down the nute concentration in the res even more. You also wanna space out top feeds to encourage roots to grow downward which they take longer to do if top fed often I noticed when I ran Dwc with tap I had to do the lower feeds to account for the Ca already there but when I did ro I had to feed full strength, these girls in particular need a grow feed since they’re N deficient so I’d watch for Ca also since they’re both forms of N. Hope this helps 👍🏾
SaviiBuds Great tips eaegifts!
blazinherb So I definitely mistyped that. I use the res water i do that when i do my testing lol. But thank you! DWC/hydro growing is new to me and I definitely have been stressed
