Stevonnie the wondeclone
Outdoor clone
I wasn’t going to post this plant as I didn’t expect much success. About 40 days ago my friend and I impulse bought a clone from local dispensary. It was stretchy with a week stem and had only a few brown roots when I planted in. It was touch and go for a while, but it’s now showing beautiful growth! I named her Stevonnie.

Day: 80
Fed nutrients a few days ago. She’s definitely happy. I’m going to have to reorganize my pots as she’s starting to grow into her surrounding plants

Day: 67
Looking really happy after her feeding

Day: 66
Gave her her first feeding today along with my other vegetables. I used a mixture of ocean harvest fish and seaweed (2-3-1) and cal mag (2-0-0). Calmag probably wasn’t necessary but it went on my vegetables and figured the extra nitrogen wouldn’t hurt. I also removed the remaining damaged leaves from last weeks stress.

Back at it. I removed most of the damaged leaves as well as a branch that’s going to interfere with my future lst. I’m really enjoying the bonsai

Day: 60
Stevonnie is looking worse everyday 😢. I’ve finally decided I can give her some water and definitely don’t think that’s the whole story at this point. Im also pretty confident it’s not heat stress as some others suggested, we’ve had highs in the mid 70s since that post and My younger plants right next to her aren’t showing the same symptoms.

Chief Smokalot Looks thirsty af. How big is the pot? and how much water do water a plant in that pot size?
torlivdo It was consistently around a half gallon every 2-3 days in a 7 gallon pot until this started. My initial thought was that my soil was holding onto too much water so I let her dry for a while (5ish days).
Chief Smokalot So a big mistake people make when creating their own mediums is not providing it with enough Substrate that promotes water drainage ( !ROOTS FOLLOW WATER! ) I’m not claiming your medium is doing that although I am claiming that you are under-watering. For my 7 gallons I provide at least 3-5 gallons of water on their water days. I must state tho that drying days are just as important as watering days. So that is why I am thorough with the cycle of watering as well as with providing what is standard for a plant to produce chlorophyll filled new growth.( organic Fertilizer ) Or maybe your plant has something else wrong , I’m just taking an educated guess

Chief Smokalot Looking happy
torlivdo Definitely. Thanks again for your input. Getting feedback from other growers like you is a great confidence boost.
Chief Smokalot That’s why I’m here, for a better tomorrow. I’m happy to help when I could
Day: 58
Looking for more advice again (or confirmation?) Stevonnie started looking rough days ago now and isn’t getting better. As of right now I’m blaming the soil it’s in holding too much water. Last week we had some pretty major heat hit this area and I watered it a little bit extra. But now I’m going on 5+ days without watering and the condition seems to be worsening. The pot is mostly dry around the edges (definitely ways less than my other freshly watered plants) but an inch down in the center is still damp. It seems crazy to me that after this time it wouldn’t have simply evaporated from that depths but here we are. Im starting to wonder if I should try replanting although I’m honestly not sure how well that would go at this size.

DoJa’sJoint Heat stress maybe . Let it dry out though
DoJa’sJoint Just allow it some timeless. But otherwise it seems healthy!
DoJa’sJoint I just know it’s stressed out.

Day: 49
Stevonnie bounced back from the damage no problem. Yesterday was the first to me I had leaves hanging over the near side of the container. I also gave her her first drink of PH downed water.

😞 completely forgot I had ties attached to a nearby pot. I picked up Stevonnie to move her and ripped these to branches off. This plant as plenty of branching and I’m sure she’s goin to be fine. Crazy how much I’m starting to care for these plants 😣

Auri850 Mother Nature cloning technique. Did you repot that right there? Might’ve been some life in it.
torlivdo I was just thinking that. Unfortunately I’m disabled and living off the kindness of friends. One more plant is illegal in my state and I don’t want them assuming any risks
Peng Surely disability is a get out of jail free pass? I’m looking forward to my day in court 😂

Started as a clone with sad roots and a week stem. I took advantage of the natural lean and started learning about lst. Look at her now!
