Spring 2023 Photo Grow
4 strains, 2 of each which will eventually culled down to 1 of each
First photo grow in quite some time. Time to see just what I can pull out of these seeds I got from a convention years ago from blind mouse seeds and old school cabinet of curiosities
G.M.O x GSC (Savory Cookies); Chem Dog x GG4 (Chemical Gorilla); Chem Dog x Durban Poison (Durban Dog); Moroccan x GSC (Beldia Cookies);

Flowering
Day 72 of flower. The purple pheno of beldia cookies just got cut down yesterday, 4 left in the flower tent to finish. Wanted one plant that was still almost no amber for a very sativa effect, the other plants will be going closer to 20-30% amber. Photos did not upload in order, when there was only one plant in the tent and the close up is of the beldia cookies I cut

Stacking going BEAUTIFULLY, good amount of purple spreading on the purple pheno of beldia cookies (back right)

Kippster How did you get them to stack soo close vertically? Awesome job!
keykey555 Mostly from how I defoliate and train my plants. I’ve found timing a good trim during early flower makes a huge difference
Kippster Thanks for that! Do you mind going into a little detail on your trading method? I’m a new grower on my first grow.. I’ve just been LST them by tying down branches and I did a light defoliation at the beginning of flower, but clearly not enough 😅

Leland3471 Nice grow keykey.
keykey555 Thank you leland! Feels good to be able to have photos again in a tent without light leaks haha. I love autos but being able to take my time with photos will always be my preference. Been a solid 5 years or so since I’ve touched photo seeds haha
Leland3471 I prefer photo period as well. Autos take the zen out of growing for me.

The biggest two in the back got transplanted into the 5 gallons already, will also transplant the front left one within the next 3-5 days, the other two will stay in the 1 gallon pot most likely. Should be flipping to flower in the next week or so

SaviiBuds Keeping those photos in 1 gals for the whole run is gonna be tough. They are going to become root bound and cause your problems most likely. It can be done, it just might be more work than you want to do. For example, my photos in flower are drinking a gallon of water every 2 days right now and they’re in 5 gal pots. I can’t imagine trying to keep up with their thirst in a 1 gal pot lol. Everyone looks healthy though right now!
keykey555 The two that I am thinking about keeping in the 1 gallon have a significantly smaller root system and were pretty stunted this whole grow in comparison to the other 3 in the tent, isn’t my first time doing it haha, I only keep em in 1 gallons when they don’t have a healthy enough root system for me. I’m sure it will be fine since they will be watered 3 times a day during flower
SaviiBuds You water 3x a day in flower?! That sounds awful haha. The smallest I ever go to flower in is a 3 gal, personally. Nothing wrong with bigger or smaller pot, it’s just not my preference because I don’t want to water that often. Def can be done as long as you have the time to water when they get to their thirsty stage of life 😊

Just did a bunch of defoliation last night, got one more transplant in a few days for all of them to go into 5 gallon containers, and will be flipping around 7-10 days after the transplant assuming all goes well

Getting rid of plants always pains me, her health just was never to good in comparison to the rest of the tent and I didn’t have room for a sixth plant. Trimmed it off to let it slowly re root to use as a clone in the future to see how she will do in the future as the new growth JUST started looking healthier finally

Even though I want to keep the last chemical gorilla plant I think I just might need to cull it. It’s the least healthiest by far and doesn’t seem to be bouncing back to it well. Has a ton of deficiencies when every other plant is extremely healthy. Will most likely cull the chemical gorilla and transplant the two in the front left saucer into 1 gallon pots

Taking it nice and slow, planning on removing the bottom 3 nodes and then topping one more time during veg. Planning on another 6 or so weeks of veg. They will eventually end up in 5 gallon pots and will be culled down to the 4 healthiest females. Have not been paying a ton of attention to them and it looks like there’s some wind burn issues. That has been resolved now
