Wanda
First time grower.
Literally the lowest of budget. Only money really spent is on lighting. Homemade living soil. Mostly from home, organic nutrition/amendments. I’m learning as I go.
No clue but it was purple ass bud and potent

Low potassium yah? Let me know your thoughts.
Caliban The leaves turned down too. Maybe N over dose? Watering? How is soil? Concur on the P deficiency though. Feels like multiple issues. Details?
Caliban Maybe too much N for flowering and not enough P-K?
moneymike1983 Thanks Cal. Yah. I hit her too hard with nitro not long back. First time grow. I have since flushed it and re fed at half what I hit her with before. I’m fairly sure K is low. The yellowing started just after I threw her in flower.

Flower power. How is she looking? Still some damage showing from previous issues. But still, I think she’s doing ok. Thoughts?

growin4thepham Leaves look to be curling a bit don't they?? Maybe it's just me but I was thinking too much N maybe
moneymike1983 Yes. That’s from about a month ago or so. I gave her way too much nitro
moneymike1983 Since then I have flushed and re amended.

Day: 137
Went out of town and came back to a major P deficiency. Stressed her into flower. No worries. Deficiency is under control. Changed her light schedule. Just going with the flow from here out. Start flower nutrients next week.

moneymike1983 Thanks. I’m definitely low budget. But I do a lot of research and make sure to get good nutrition for the plants. I have langbeinite for potassium plus I make my own banana compost and add a ton of it to the bottom of the pots.
moneymike1983 Any brand suggestions?
Day: 120
Letting her get some height to her and working on the flower station. Building it from the inside out as I am not as limber as I was ten years ago.

Day: 116
After a watering or two, she’s looking much better. Clearly can still see eagle claws from the excess nitrogen she got a couple weeks back but still…. She’s moving along.

Day: 108
She’s mending just fine I think.

Day: 108
Just got some better shots with a better camera. Better than last week, right?

Day: 104
Her recovery is coming along just fine. Learning as we go…..

Day: 101
I did not mean to make it a cross. Lol. Is what it is. She’s in much better shape than she was a few days ago. Imma add only water for another watering cycle or two to ensure I don’t immediately go back to nitro burn. Growth looks good since I raised the light as well.

BenBR How many colas is that? 😍
moneymike1983 I haven’t counted. Haha. I just keep topping anything that gets significantly taller than the rest. But I think I’ve taken my last cutting for a while. Gonna bush her out and see how it goes.
Day: 99
So after a talk with some of you guys, I narrowed down the problems to water, nitrogen and light. Lol. I feel like an idiot. So my light was about six inches too close according to the literature that came with the light. And she was both overwatered and had too much nitro. I took her outside and flushed with about three gallons of clean water and let her drip dry in the sun(cloth pot). Put her to bed last night and look at her now. She’s coming back. Thanks y’all.
moneymike1983 I forgot to mention I did raise the light and just every so slightly dim it. I will turn it back up slowly to make sure I’m not causing problems.
Day: 98
She’s sick. I need help please and thanks. She got droopy. So I checked her soil moisture. Dry as a bone. So I watered. This was two days ago. No improvement. Ph is fine. Idk

Day: 91
LST done. She’s opened up. Now to recover and get to growing again. First time I’ve tried this. How did I do?
Day: 91
Removed about five leaves this morning to open up the smaller growth to more light. I cannot believe how fast she has recovered from the LST and turned her branches back to the “sun”. How does she look?

Day: 89
Last time I top it. Now imma let her bush out and do some minor lst and defoliation as she grows. This is my first go at this so I’m keeping it simple.

Day: 87
Looking perky today. A little misting. Probably gonna top and clone again soon

Day: 82
She says good morning. Happy in her new pot and my super soil DIY recipe. There’s a nice kick of K in the bottom layers for flowering stage. All organic as I’ve said before. No chemicals. Azomite, bone n blood meal, langbeinite, my homemade banana water (all of this heavily diluted clearly), and a couple things I got from my cousin. She likes it. She likes it a lot.

Early repotting. Was a good thing too. Luckily the compost was good enough to use.

ktc This is looking good, what light are you using?
moneymike1983 Mars Hydro TSW 2000. Itll veg a 4x4 and bloom a 3x3. Building a bigger room for it now. Gonna put my 400 watt hps/mh conversion in this 23x29
ktc Oh awesome, I was looking at the Mars Hydro lights for when I finish setting up my indoor grow. Benefits of switching to 400w hps? Or are you going to have both running?

This is where it all began for my first grow. All DIY led. I call the bigger one the UFOhhh! Kept her happy all the way into early veg.

dale2216 Looks like a space ship grow , E.T phone home 👆🏻
dale2216 Quite a cool set up
moneymike1983 Thanks man. I think I’m still going to use it for seedlings for a while. I have grown attached. Something about building stuff yourself...

No major signs of shock since the change of pots. Hopefully she really takes off now...

Day: 79
First major defoliation. Let’s see how it goes. Only time will tell.
Mystrain420 For the best results you should lst with defoliation 👍🏾
420ninja1031 I agree with Mystrain420 add in som LST into the work you put into your plants to get it more bushy and develop more top sites; I would also consider up-potting to 3 or 5gal pots. I can’t really tell from the angle of your pics but it looks like they are in 1gal pots. Think of the soil as the battery for your plants bigger battery bigger plants. Looking good for your first grow.
moneymike1983 Thanks. And yes that’s a 1 gallon. I plan to change pots in three weeks when my compost is done. So I’m hesitant on any lst til after change.
Day: 78
Is it normal for them to droop at bit every time you water your plants? Seems common here. Am I just overwatering? I mean...she pops back up the next day...
adamsgrow They will drop some it’s normal, as long as it comes back each time you’ll be okay
moneymike1983 Yah she usually perks back up the next day when the lights come back on.
Day: 78
See? Day after water she perks right back up. But every time I water, she droops hard core.
Mystrain420 Skip a watering
Day: 78
Again. I’m new to this. Should i defoliate now?
bigzaddy the bottom yeah
⚖️Golden Ratio 🧬 Yea, should start now … nice and easy prune away the ones that get the less light 💡 Otherwise nice plant 🪴 Good luck 🍀
moneymike1983 This is something I’ve read two different strategies to. Do you clip what isn’t getting good light or clip stuff out of the way so the lower branches get more light?
Day: 76
Pic is a couple weeks old. But I’m considering some side lighting. Maybe LED Fluorescent replacement tubes in the corners. Over kill?
macks1907 Just add the 1000 watt model or hang 2 extra lighting, I hung 2 1000 lights up and seen a growth difference ! Almost immediately
moneymike1983 That’s the TSW 2000. Though I wouldn’t say it was the equivalent of two 1000 watt HPS or anything. The light has been adequate really. But eventually I will clone this girl and screen the room with 4 plants or so. Wasn’t sure how much that would change the dynamic.
adamsgrow I don’t think you need any extra lights, to much light can actually stress the plant out and burn her and could also stunt the growth. The Mars hydro lights are good. It’s not all about the wattage that the light puts out, you really want to see the color spectrum that it puts out. During veg period the plants like light with more blue and during flower they like more red color.

Day: 75
My start date is an approximate guess. I just decided to journal some of this. Mistakes have been made. I turned a slight nitrogen deficiency into nitrogen burn pretty fast at one point. But. Mistakes made were lessons learned.

biglser Looks great
moneymike1983 Thank you. I’ll take all advice I can get. I grow vegetables and such outside. This is my first bud and first indoor endeavor.
