Day: 38
I realized that I had to start low stress training now or else the plant would very quickly get out of hand. Used some paper clips because I didn’t have anything else. Switched out the paper clips for other materials later.

Day: 35
Fimming the plant has resulted in four new branches.

Day: 33
Fimmed the plant. Did it perhaps too soon after the nutrient burn, but it still worked. Roots have reached into the reservoir at this point.

Day: 26
The plant has almost entirely outgrown its nutrient burn.

Day: 12
The water change remedied my nutrient burn immediately. No further areas of the plant became nutrient burned, and even the severely burned leaves have rebounded! It will be a week at least before any nutrients are added.

Day: 10
The roots finally grew down far enough to commit suicide. This is bad nutrient burn, but once again can easily be fixed with a water change. On this day I changed the water to completely nutrient free water and crossed my fingers.

Day: 9
Nutrient burn gets ever so slightly worse. The reason it isn’t immediately going into shock is because the roots haven’t had very long to reach down into the reservoir or into the wet lava rock. It’s only getting small amounts of water, enough to sustain, but my cause significant burn.

Day: 8
Beginning of nutrient burn. Originally I reasoned that the light green color was because it was a seedling and new growth is generally lighter. This is actually the very start of nutrient burn. Notice the ends of the two larger leaves curling upwards, discoloring, and dying at the very ends. This was very correctable at this stage with a simple water change to water with no nutrients.

Day: 7
Placed plant in DWC. Nutrients are added in the reservoir in too high of a concentration, which will result in nutrient burn. I’m writing this well after the picture was taken. Start off your plant in pure water, and don’t add nutrients until you see the third node.

Day: 5
So I bought three blue dream seeds. “Why is there only one?” You ask. I killed the other two because I didn’t wash my hydroton, and the seeding pellets I had sewn them in became caked with salt. ALWAYS wash your medium.
