LED + Outdoor Biologically focused
Single seed to harvest journal
Hybrid LED outdoor grow tent + outdoor grow organic biological grow. Where I’m located we don’t get anywhere close to 18 hours of sunlight. LED is used as supplemental lighting. LED is turned on during the night at a specific time dictated by the last light of the day so evening twilight can be utilised in the evening. Once day time the plant is moved from the tent outside to continue the rest of the cycle outside. LAB serum is used as a pH Down to ph feeds and water, as a weak acid and a bacteria group it should work over time to aid, inoculate and dominate the soil microbiome managing pH further

Day: 8

Progress is steady, as seen a small amount of lead tip burn occurred. This was due to humidity, light and temp disruptions during the outdoor period. I accidentally left the humidity dome off and it had dried the soil a bit too much and it was quite a hot day with around 50% RH on day 6, since then have been gently rehabilitating since the stress and continuing the feed just water pH’d with LAB serum to approx 6.5 using a liquid test kit. Plant is spending all day outside and in the night time it’s in the grow space under LED, led is timed to initiate morning sun to utilise evening twilight as a far red/nir light response to signal to the plant to go to ‘sleep’

Day: 5

Seed fully sprouted after 48 hours, a humidity dome was placed over and will continue to for a few days just to keep moisture in the soil, as you can see it is quite a mineral sand mix on top just to aid in germination of the seed and not over fertilising in a rich organic soil. Water has been continued to be pH’d to around 6.5 using biological agents and has been watered once each day just around the seed area

Day: 3

Seed germinated on the second day, left on the ziplock bag until the 3rd day for the tap root to get a touch longer, planted direct into veg container with homemade organic soil mix, added powdered Diatomaceous Earth and Malted Barley by sprinkling it onto the soil and physically agitating it down by smacking the soil container and then watering in with a homemade inoculate. LAB serum was used as a biological pH down and additional inoculant along with an experimental of LAB serum Extracted Mother of Herbs for potential antibacterial and antifungal properties to use as a preventative during Veg, due to unknown effects of smoking the extract won’t be used during flower. Seed was watered in with rain water ph’d to 6.5 using biological ph agents: LAB Serum as pH Down and a LAB Worm Casting and Compost Extract/Hydrolysate as a pH Up.

Skasgard To the larger pot which is the flower/stretch pot, the same powdered diatomaceous earth, malted barley was added but along with potash and seabird guano powdered along with the other powders and the same process was used to work that into the soil mix. My homemade soil mix sits a little high pH wise around 7, I therefore am going the be using LAB serum and other bacterial inoculates as a biological pH down to try and adjust as needed as I’m testing alternative organic pH control
Day: 1

Germinated via paper towel method, 1ml of Performance Plus by Grow Research (based on Mono silicic acid, 4 types of kelp extract which help with cell division, flowering, essential oil production, vegetative function and more, yukka extract, humic, fulvic acids, and supplemental Phosphorus and Potassium.) was added to rainwater and soaked into the paper towel. Excess liquid was squeezed out providing a very small boost to the seedling via biostimulant use. paper towel was further hydrated to the ideal point with 3% hydrogen peroxide, aiming to further sterilising, aid germination and provide small amounts of oxygen to the germination environment. A single seed was put into the paper towel, folded and put into a ziplock bag and magnetically held to the side of the fridge for warmth.
