genghis_quan What a monster. I have one that is going into flower at like 36 days, and the other will be almost 60. It’s my first grow so my baseline won’t be as good as yours (size aside). Noshogro I wouldn't worry about a little damage. It will still grow like nothing happened and you will forget about it lol. You live you learn. I've accidentally cut off branches I didn't meant to when cutting fan leaves off. That's why I just snap the fans off

genghis_quan Yo homie so I just topped a few of my plants today, I’m wanting to defoliate like this but I do not know how many leaves need to be kept in order for photosynthesis to occur correctly. Obviously your plant was fine, but how did you know what was okay to defoliate? *mainly at earlier stages like mine(about 16-17 days old)

Noshogro The way I defoliate is by clipping all fan leaves and newer growth from under the node you chose to top. So let's say you topped at the 3rd node. So then I would clip or pinch the fan and new growth leaves off from the 1 and 2 nodes leaving just the 2 top fan leaves and the 2 newer growth between them and the stems because those would be your two new Colas. Hope that answers your question(s)
