Removed the damaged / infected leaves on Tuesday, moved onto the balcony yesterday after adding a tiny amount of water with literally two drops of fertilizer (one drop of Root-Juice and one drop of Bio-Grow). Doesnāt look good so far. Ideas? In hindsight, I can even see the overwatering in the older picturesā¦

FML, turns out I had watered too much. On top of that, these pesky little black flies had settled in. Repotted today, hoping for the best. Not too optimistic, though. Any ideas are welcome ššš

liesanddeceit Considering you call them little black flies I assume you didn properly identify them. So the fungus gnae flies and their larvae are most common because they love humidity and warm areas. The grown flies do not acutually harm the plant , but they will nest in there and sometimes die, polluting your harvest. Yellow stick paper works to keep them off. Preemtively stress drying plant to 40% bucket volume counters them. The larvae which are like 1-2 mm and you can see them moving with your bare eye ( white cloudy colour with a black head ) can be removed with your hand. They only harm the roots when they colonize , some of them are actually more nasty than harmful. To get rid of those youād buy special larvae killing stuff. They specify directly itās for the larvae. You can repott 300 times and still have the same problems if you donāt properly journal your habitat and behavior and keep track of the changes to what you applied. You can be optimistic tho. The general new-growers love to their babies tends to overwater. If it is only water your plant needs , it will tell you directly. The bigger stems arriving from the main stem ( not the leaves ) will hang down in an n shape. Thatās when you take 1/3 of pot size in water and slowly in 10 min frequencies water it. Let it sink in , nutritions get soaked it , minerals etc. have good drainage and make sure to lift after watering so you see the difference to a well watered and dry plant
jeannedark Thanks, thatās really helpful! Well, they definitely werenāt fruit flies and Iām 99% sure it was fungus gnats. I repotted and will monitor closely. You reckon thereās hope for my plant yet?
liesanddeceit Before killing it Iād try removing all infected leaves and let the main stem produce fresh ones. If the stem itself or the roots are rotting then you can probably toss the plant

RoMag What are you growing in? What size is the container? What is the container made of? What is your growing medium?
jeannedark Itās a really small pot (maybe 1l?) with standard soil. Ordered an 11l one and special soil (biobizz with perlite). Wouldnāt fit under the lamp anymore, though, so Iām unsure because of the lightsā¦
RoMag I think that we all have been there. I know that is how I started. You will find your level that you want to invest for your grow. Best of Luck

Not much happening (duller photo from yesterday). Lights currently 16/8. Fertiliser should arrive soon. Any ideas whether thatāll help? Also: Does one need a tent and such? Iām not looking to grow masses, just for a weekend chill and hope I can transfer the plant onto the balcony at some point (weather has been dreadful, more like November for the last two weeks, yuck)ā¦

@eaegifts Youāll want a tent setup if you intend to control when they flower, if grown outside photos wonāt flower until the late summer/fall season.
jeannedark Theyāre autos (seemed easier), so I hope they will be fine without a tentā¦ Thanks!
Geo420 Good luck on your first grow. Looking good so far

D Grow Your plant is lacking light š„²
jeannedark Thanks for the advice! I suspected that the amount of growth was too good be true but wanted to stay optimistic for a change. Got a light which hopefully will help
D Grow Any light will help āļø Anyhow, you can bury it deeper in a bigger pot. This will kinda fix it - if it gets enough light afterwardsāš»
