Lazy Farmer
First Attempt at Growing Anything
New Journal After First Seedlings Failed
I've never tried to grow anything... too lazy. But, I'm kind of a tech geek so, I figured a "smart" tent with sensors and controllers would make it easier... we'll see.

Day: 49
Got a wireless PAR meter from Amazon today... This thing is awesome! It can read directly in umol. May not be accurate, but as long as it's precise (big difference) it will take the guesswork out of light height and dimming adjustments. BTW... my plants are in day three of recovery from overwatering and heat stress (again). This PAR meter said I had 1100+ umol @ 100%; Was able to dim the light (800 umol)... That solved the heat problem. Also made some Tent improvements... Moved the CO2 Line down below the Vent to light level; Might keep less CO2 from getting sucked out when the Vent kicks in. And, moved the Temp/RH/CO2 sensor down to canopy level. Also added a Humidifier; Was getting dry in there and got tired of hanging wet towels.

charlie_wax Dude the towel game got so old… first-grower here and upped my humidifier game recently, too. Similar setups - are you taking your air out of the top and filtering outside the tent?
Lazy Farmer I got the Mars Hydro 27×27 Tent Kit w/4" Fan & Filter, both mounted inside. The TS1000 Light was lame.
Day: 46
Got the new light in (FC3000)... At 100 %, I have to run the Vent full blast to keep my little tent cool, even with the driver outside. But, it looks like they're still getting ~1000ppm CO2. I want to move the CO2 feed line and Sensor below the light, just above the canopy, but the side lights are in the way; Getting some cutain rods to remount the camera and sensor.

Started feeding Big Bloom today; 50ml/gal. Gave 500ml each followed by 250ml Tea. Ordered a bigger light... want to turn on CO2.

Day: 32
Maturing slowly. Even little-big sister is starting to look normal. Feeding nutes then tea, 500 ml every other day or so. Notes: 18/6@50%; 75°/70°F; ~57%RH

mystrain420 _@eaegifts Try moving the light up some and doing lst 👍🏾
Day: 24
Looking good... But her older sister is a dwarf. Started on Grow Big today (10ml /gal) and turning on the side lights. Started LST on the healthy one.

Day: 17
Looking better on the chosen one.. But, her older sister on the right, looks stunted from all the abuse she took. Gave them each 8oz of Recharge today. Note: Light is 10" up from soil @ ~30%. Temp & Humidity settings in screenshot.

Day: 8
The peat pot on the right had roots coming out of it. Since I only have a 27×27 tent, I transplanted it... It's actually about day 13 but stunted. I also transplanted the best looking one from the eggs (lower right). I buried the stem a bit as suggested. Added 1/2 cup of Recharge to each pot, and turning off the light for a few hours. Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 l'm hoping, in soil they will be more forgiving of my mistakes 😞

mystrain420 _@eaegifts Grab a $10 digital timer from Walmart 👍🏾👍🏾
Day: 6
Yesterday, I tried a 12w=150w grow bulb a few inches from the tops to try to stop the stretching. Later next day, found out I only made it worse... One grew almost 1/2 inch and all were bending toward the light after one day. I'm guessing the bulb was too weak. Went back to main light @ 25%. I was using 10% before; I was over compensating for frying the first two. 😕 The one upper right looks like it may survive 🙏 If they stretch tomorrow, I may have to crush & bury a stem or two. Note: Next time, Switch from bulb to main light at sign of first leaves. Also, try FF Happy Frog for seedlings 🌱 Saw a few posts about it having less Nitrogen than Ocean Forest; Maybe why my seedlings are so dark green?

HammertimeAZ Not sure where you’re at but a better soil choice would be something from Aurora Innovations Out of Oregon. I wouldn’t worry about the light at this point and stretching they’re young and when you transplant them you can put the dirt up higher on the plant stem to give a greater stability.
stick e fingerz FF happy frog is great for seedlings also I’ve ran this strain before did well happy growing 👍
Lazy Farmer Thanks for the input... I seem to be making every mistake in the book🤯 Best way to learn I guess.
Day: 4
I gave up on the ones in the peat pots. My "smart" system missed the night routine with the space heater stuck at ON and the temp got up to 104F. They were already stressed from my over watering. Plus, the one on the left got fried by the lights; I had them at 25%. The one on the right only had one catlydeon because, I waited too long to pull off the shell. But, she's looking better now. Lots of mistakes... For this do-over, trying the three new ones in the egg shells, now at day four from first sprout. Took the dome off today and lowered the light a few inches @min setting (~15%). Keeping them at 77° , 70° at nite (18/6), the humidity stays at ~60% with a saturated hand towel. Note: Took 5-6 days to sprout.... Soaked the seeds until they sank, then planted in the eggs right away. Next time I'll try soaking for 24 hours before planting. Using Fox Farms Oceanic and distilled water.
