Tomorrow or next week will be fine to add innoc. to my substrate. Might be tomorrow though. Doing very well so far. Off to a great start!

ZaddyXL Great work! How do you plan to do the substrate? What container? Are you familiar with field capacity and hour to sanitize or pasteurize?

Xander Kaliyuga

Xander Kaliyuga No, no, and no. 😂I would sure love some advice, although so far my plan is to make a diy still air box with a sterilite container on top and a brand new liter box as the bottom. I’m probably going to lay out and 1-2 inches of substrate, and add 1 inch of my inoculate to however many inches of substrate. I’m going to sterilize my coir substrate and then lay it down after letting it sit in a ventilated bucket container for 6-12 hours. Then lay down the substrate and add my inoculate. I’ll use those air filter pads that stick over the holes for ventilation. I also just so happen to have an air sterilizer for its space the bin will be in. That’s all I have so far..

ZaddyXL

ZaddyXL Sounds good, just make sure you have a spray bottle of alcohol ready. Idr my ratios but you can check in my posts to see, but I’m pretty sure I pasteurized coco in the oven in the bags, if it wasn’t that I just boiled hot water and poured it over the coco and let it sit for a few hours till it cooled, then threw it in the bags and inoculated with the corn spawn. Make sure to keep it dark when you’re done, and I wanna say oxygen isn’t as important until fruiting. I’ve noticed I threw my bags right into fruiting conditions and they did fine, but the mycelium really want that casing layer which keeps the layer of oxygen even further away. They fruit to reach the oxygen and sporulate. There’s a layer of co2 that’s directly over the surface. I say all this to say I wouldn’t worry about the pore tape yet. Add that when you’re fruiting so then you get a fresh air exchange. Just fan and mist it every few days so you see the droplets on the sides

Shook it up at the end of the first week, almost complete. One more week and should be able to transfer it over to my sterilized substrate.

ZaddyXL I think you want to let it recolonize to ensure everything is being used and there aren’t any grains that would cause mold. This time it should be mush faster. Then when it takes over, send it

Xander Kaliyuga

Xander Kaliyuga Heard, they’re almost taking over the whole jar. I’m seriously impressed. I’ll post pictures tomorrow

@eaegifts

@eaegifts What’s your spore source if you don’t mind me asking? I’m looking for a new source in case it was my syringe that was contaminated.

End of week 1 innoc.

ZaddyXL It’s hard to tell what coloration is happening , but if it’s all white and you don’t see any lingering moisture on the bottom or too much on the walls you should be fine

Xander Kaliyuga

Xander Kaliyuga Nah man the least I have to worry about it moisture, the rice is looking mad fine for moisture.. looking pretty dry actually. But upon closer inspection, no tricoderma, I forget the “too wet” bacteria but it def. Doesn’t have that.. so it looks like we’re in the clear! 2 more weeks and I’ll have it out!

ZaddyXL

ZaddyXL Word! It sounds like you know what you’re looking for so just keep at it. I think the tub overtop is overkill but hey if it works it works lol. Also, is it in a dark space? It looks like it’s in an open room. I would over it with a blackout sheet or something, this would definitely help. I did uncle Ben’s tek and forgot to hide them and it was a total flop haha
