steezykayla Using hps you wanna be able to hold your hand just above your plants under the light for at least 20 seconds without getting too hot for you to handle. Then you know if your light is too close/hot for your girls

steezykayla Ooh yes 18” is typically too low for even an LED as you can experience not only heat stress but light burn as well. Typically for a light, at least an LED as far as I know (I know you’re using hps) is 24” Good luck with the training!
