Allkushedup To stop light penetration as I like to transfer my seedlings early. I sit the root root cubes on a single layer of clay pebbles and only fill the baskets up to level with the cubes. Doing this means the roots hit the reservoir quicker but leaves the holes in the baskets open to light going through. So the short to the long explanation is light block.
