Chop day for Blacksmith! She went a bit longer than the others, but her size made it well worth it. Nice earthy smell and covered in purple trichomes and black-purple buds. Pics of the parents added for posterity :D

slavethewhales Thanks! Some chillier nights probably helped with the color, but all credit for the genes has to go to Gnome Automatics. I’m just a lowly pollen chucker :D

The main bud of the Pinot Noir and all trimmed and jarred up. A bit early in the jars due to low humidity (ordered a humidity) but it’s stabilizing well in the jars and looks great. Boveda 62% packs in there to keep it just right.

Maybe the last update before the Pinot Noir and Sour Apple get the axe. The pistils on the pollinated Pinot Noir branch look to be receding which is a good sign the pollination was a success.

Decided to pull out some of my Black Strap pollen from 4/22 and pollinate a branch of the 2nd Pinot Noir. I will reapply again in a few days for good measure. Hoping for the same frostiness of the Pinot Noir with the darker colors and sweeter smell of the Black Strap.

The Pinot Noir (far left) and Sour Apple (back) are in the final push and should be ready by Valentine’s Day-ish. The younger Pinot Noir is looking very happy since being topped and has reacted very well to the LST. The Blacksmith is massive compared to the rest and taking longer, but the yield will be larger with the longer veg time and the black coloring is starting to come in really nicely. She will be absolutely stunning.

Day one for the 2nd Pinot Noir! Mixed a new pot for it so I could mix in the Grow Dots this time (as recommended) to see how that fares. Gave the first Pinot Noir the LST treatment today. Will update after she responds and points for the sky again.

The 4th pot has has nothing but bad luck. The Black Strap sprout died after sprouting, so I have a 2nd Pinot Noir seed now start using the ol’ paper towel method. Hopefully it’s as lush and hearty as the first one. Speaking of, the Pinot Noir and Sour Apple have shot out their first pistils, so they’re coming along amazingly so far. I’d expect them to get some more height soon here, hopefully.

Day one of the Black Strap breaking ground. The Blacksmith looks tired today but good, and the rest are shooting up very nicely. Pinot Noir is a beast!

Trying out Grow Dots for the first time this run. Added the recommended amount as a top dress and watered with pH adjusted water with Recharge and silica. The 2nd Blacksmith didn’t pop, so I planted a Black Strap (Breeders Selection) in its place for a little more variety. Hopefully in a few more days there’ll be a new baby joining the rest.
