Winter grow with HSO
Humboldt seed org genetics
With 2 grows now under my belt I now want to put the little I’ve learned into what I’m considering my first real grow... back to photo period plants and using proper lighting temps and nutes... remember my first grow was more of a fluke and my second an auto flower. Heard only great things about HSO genetics and choosing what from them to grow was difficult. Black Friday sales limited inventory a little bit still was able to get two of the strains I was most interested in. Planted the seeds with direct to soil germination using fox farms ocean forest in 1 gallon air pots. 4 seeds planted with the goal of three making there way from the germination/seedling cabinet to the grow room. The grow room actually currently has two additional autos that I germinated late during my last auto grow and I kept them in the germination cabinet for nearly 2.5 months and they stayed in veg got to a nice size and are now flowering in the grow room... I’m hoping they will be able to finish before the new girls need all the space in there!
2 (TBK) Three Blue Kings and 1 (GB) Gorilla Breath
Day 95 (Week 14)
13 updates

Day: 95
4/20 how appropriate: missed last Sunday’s entry and this weeks I delayed a day to post on 4/20. The girls are doing well except for the gorilla breath which continues to be small in structure and show signs of calmag deficiencies despite trying everything to fix it. Despite flushes PPMs seem to build Up in the GB fast and today was a flush to bring them back down to 1100 gojng to try a full week of just ph water to see if anything changes with the gb. Despite the small leaves and small bud size and the fact that the leaves show rusting early on the GB IS FROSTY AS HELL..... hoping she makes it through to harvest and the yield is decent with tons of smaller buds.. Both tbks are doing great and the test plant I continue to grow in the germination cabinet has the biggest fattest baseball sized buds in her and they are rock hard... if the big girls produce similar sized buds the yields will be amazing and make up for the GB.

Day: 80
4/5 16th day of flower and all seems to be going well.. slight defoliation of lower leaves otherwise water and feed. Tried a new bloom enhancer from cx horticulture as well as switching to their Head Masta instead of canna boost all I’ve read says same results much better price. Last picture I’m including is a small TBK that was the runt when I moved them from the germination cabinet to the big box. Flipped her just under four weeks ago and the buds are looking great and fattening up nicely.. also rock hard.... hoping the big sisters flower out as well.....

Day: 73
3/29 day 73 Girls have been in flower a bit over a week and the initial flower stretch was a solid 8+ inches with them still growing an inch arm day if not more the stretch allowed me to really get in and clear out the lower growth they were in need of a real defoliation and the GB really benefited and seems to be stretching as I watch her. Finally clearing out the under growth is also allowing me to water much easier... the very early LST and tight nose spacing has made thes plants sit low to the soil in the future I’ll let them get a few inches taller before I start lst . Thinned our now still plenty of good looking bud sites and the next week should see explosive growth I’m hoping with so much less vegetation to support .. Feeding yesterday included flower nutes along with some canna boost and botanic are sweet raw! Haven’t looked at the girls yet this morning but I’ll add in another pic when I do. The first pic is defoliation debris, followed by an overall along with some close ups of rhe understructure of each plant..

Day: 67
March 22. Lighting and nutes switched to flower 3 days ago 3/19. The girls are all really starting to appear healthy.... not sure if I finally got their nutes dialed in or they have grown into their nutes. Either way the three girls have fully filled out the 2x4 grow room. Drinking about 1/2 gallon every two days. Feed schedule seems to be 3 times a week with nutes every other day and then third feed is a ph flush and a three day dry before the next nute feeding. The gorilla breath still has slight signs of a deficiency and I feel I have ruled out calmag as she’s been getting cal mag in every feeding... thinking now it’s a little p or k so tomorrow will start adding pk13/14 to the nutes once a week to see how she responds. Overall achieved a near scrog effect grow without the screen as I do like to be able To take the girls out for continued defoliation and inspection... depending on the stretch over the next two weeks will have to see if that remains an option or if it’s time to switch to full drip feedings and leave the girls in place... Second month of a grow is so exciting compared to the first 1-4 weeks of slow early growth seeing the difference from week 4 to week 8 makes you feel like you are actually here doing something. Day 3 of flower and pistols are beginning to show! Will be exciting to see how well the bud sites set up without the trellising first spacing and support . This grow will definitely let me know if I can continue to max out this space without the need for a Scrog . In the future I could probably fill the space with two plants just as easily as three and another week or Two of veg but not sure I’d gain the same bud site structure and this does allow me to have two strains

Day: 60
March 15th the idea of March! Corona virus has us all crazed and now in essential lockdown!! I’m happy to have my garden as a distraction and of course as a source of perpetual bud! All three girls really be escorted from a full multi gallon flush bringing their high ppms down into the 7-800 range. This past week was mostly a cleansing for the girls... today they had their last training a some defoliating in prep for the switch to flower that will come Friday. To date they had roughly a two week sprout and seedling stage and a six week veg prior to switch hung to flower! The GB has started to catch up finally with the two tbks. And the canopy heading into flower is looking ideal!!!!! While not soging or scroging I do have a generally even and full canopy but remain able to take the girls out for watering and maintenance if I choose. Will move more and more towards drip irrigation as the girls are becoming consistent as far as water and feed uptake now that gb is catching up. Drinking abojt 2.5 liters every other day. This week they will get 1/2 grow and 1/2 flower nutes until the light switch .

Day: 50
March 5th not home this weekend so instead of rhe usual Sunday update I’m doing it on Friday. The girls health and growth all were great this week. The two tbks have really started to fill out width wise and I’ve kept them trained low secondary bud sites are popping up and rising to the rest of rhe canopy so I’m pleased . GB finally seems to be growing normally and while still well behind the tbks she’s starting to fill out a bit and new growth doesn’t appear to be suffering from whatever deficiency I have been struggling with! I do believe in general I may have been under watering the girls the last few weeks as I tried to get a handle on what was keeping them in such slow growth state I think the days I leave them alone and stay out of the room are their best days but how is a daddy to do that ugh Pics all three, tbk (both are quite similar) GB (finally spreading out

Day: 39
Feb 23, girls have all been a little sluggish... definitely needed a break from nutrients.... this week was a half strength followed by a ph flush and today a 3/4 strength of grow, som micro brew tea, and calmag. The GB still a runt but hoping this week starts to improve her nose spacing is so tight it’s hard to train. The two TBK, really perked you and leaves brightened after the flush. ALL THREE, had a light defoliation mostly to allow for LST, all were topped at each main site and trained down into nearly a manifold. I think in the future I will transplant off center to allow for that first main training pull down to not take the main kola out of the pot circumference. As far as this farmer goes I’m off to Jamaica and some time with my feet in the water, some good blue mountain ganja and good vibes and music. The girls are set to have 1500ml of phd water auto dropped every 3days while I’m gone... setting up two humidifiers one should cover the first 2-3 days I’m gone and the other the next three days (set on auto delay) All should be ok!

Day: 31
Feb 15. The girls are a month old and 5th nose. I topped them on the 13th at the 4th node. I think it’s time to move the two stronger tbk and the gab into their big girl pots so transplanted today and culled the smallest of the tbk. As they had been fed two days ago transplanted with only myco+ mycorrhazal root booster in PhD water. About 2quarts per plant to make sure soil was evenly moistened and about 20% run off. GB is definitely going to eat and drink and different levels then the tbk. Hoping I can maintain just one feeding schedule and nite mix for the three.. the GB rootball experiences a little fall away of too dry a soil hope she doesn’t face much shock from it.

Feb 9... plant grow particularly of the gb still slower then I’d like although the girls are relatively on pace with where they should be but sure seems slower to me.

Day: 19
Feb 3 2 of the 3 TBK are looking big and strong for the end of two weeks the third the one that sprouted a day late concurs to move quite slow.. the GB looks healthy and well steuctured but still small in overall size.. the girls had their first water with half strength botanicare pro grow and took about a cup of water each.. all four are now in the bigger grow box with the two auto skullryders that I’m still keeping around for the hell of it.... but when the new Girls need the room those may get culled... hoping the change over to the big box and stronger lighting starts them on their way.... glad to be back with photos so I can veg until these girls are the size I want.... tbh er is an ease to autos but also some added stress of its own kind.

Day: 14
Been a couple days since last post the girls are still syringe fed about 50ml phd water and doing well amazing what a few days can do third set of leaves are in and fourth already about to show themselves Moved the gorilla breath into the big box with some early flowering autos to see if more light would speed her up and catch up to the three blue kings

Day: 10
1/26 the girls are 10 days old and doing fine. Two of the tbk seedlings are taking off nicely and the gb had a slow start, I think fox farm oceans is a little hot for some seedlings... but early lead oddity and slow growth seems to have past in the last two or three days and all look healthy. They are still in the germination cabinet under just a 50w led light.... currently there are two skullryders in the grow room that were extra sprouted seeds from my last grow I decided to hang onto.... the new girls will move to the big room in a week or so and the skull ryders?? Hmm not sure what I’ll do with them.. seedlings are still on just phed h20 about 3 ounces every 2 days.

Theable1 What kind of lighting are you using? I like that you’re pretty thorough I need to be more on my grow. I’ve just started an auto flower grow myself. This is my second grow
