Terrace grow #1
Started around the end of 2020
This is an outdoor grow that was started late 2020 in a covered terrace. Receives direct sunlight mainly in the morning (before noon) for about 3 hours and then remains in bright conditions but with no direct sunlight for the rest of the day. Has gone through a lot of trouble (small pests that have gnawed at the leaves in the current state and nutrient deficiency early in its flowering stage). Has been flowering for a while now and something interesting happened recently were the top began to stretch again and seems to be producing a big cola now. Still growing a lot and producing a lot of pistils. Trichomes are fairly cloudy but I’ve been having trouble identifying them correctly because my jeweller’s loupe is not the greatest (very small 90x zoom lens so it’s quite hard to maintain focus and look closely at the trichomes). I have tied the top down because it is getting very tall and I’m trying to keep the neighbours from seeing it.

The plant is behaving a little strange. It could be because it has been growing for a long time and, since it is summer now, it might have regressed to veg state for a bit… I don’t know. You can see in the pictures how it is getting bushy on the top (first picture was posted a few days ago, the second is of today). As I said before, I had to tie it down because it was stretching a lot and I don’t want to risk neighbors seeing it. This is how it has progressed (you can see the tiny hook in both photos for reference).

_pocket Definitely looks like it’s switched back into veg growth. You’re going to have a monster here

Since the plant is behaving a little strange and appears to be growing again at the top but the cuttings I’ve taken down before have been wonderful (even without curing), I decided to chop off the remaining undergrowth and these are the results. Not a lot of bud, but it will do for this experiment/learning experience. In the pictures you can see the amount of cuttings first, then the same cuttings manicured and how the plant remained. The rest of the buds are in the main stem (as a main cola would be) and do show signs of continued growth, so I have left them for a bit longer to see how it all develops.

Here are some close-ups of the undergrowth-buds trimmed. If you enlarge the pictures you can appreciate some trichs. Some still clear, some amber, most cloudy (IMO). What do you guys think?

Day: 251
Gathering some cuttings. I had cut 3 other small branches from the lowermost part of the plant and started to dry them under 40-45% humidity and 23-26 C room temp for about 4 days. As it was just a test, we tried them last night right after enough drying under those conditions. Results: delish. Even though not cured and not dried under best conditions, the clippings were very nice and very smooth for the throat. Nice exp. I have cut two more clippings and have started drying them today under similar conditions. I included some pics of the trichomes in a sugar leaf I cut off. Tell me what you think people, how do they look? (Zoom in and you can appreciate some details).

These are some pictures of the state of the buds up-close when I was considering cutting down the first tester mentioned in the previous post.

A better picture of the trichomes from the most recent “sample” cuttings. I think I will cut everything soon, we’ll see.

Sevenleafs At the moment of the picture the little leaf was already dry from the heat of the terrace, but I think it beautifully shows how a plant would like like during the middle of a proper drying process.
Sevenleafs Thanks for the tip! I’m actually doing that, that’s why I’ve been taking clippings, and I think it’s ready
