Blueberry and Gold Leaf 2.0

Let’s see what we’ve learned about botany, hydroponics and love(?) since the pandemic started

The very first grow happened to be the same strains two years ago this month. Interested to see if there’s any measurable improvements in the process plus a couple of the plants will be in the first attempt at aquaponics.

Day: 142

Still haven’t really started to stretch but looks like she’s gotten over the nutrient burn. Also, I put a pic of my pretty successful cloning system I made out of a broken bong and a bubbler in my aquaponic setup.

Day: 123

A little nute burn and/or light burn at the top. Cut a clone and threw it in the pond that feeds my aquaponics—I’ll put this one in the DWC when the roots sprout so it should be nice and acclimated for the water later.

Overdue for an update—the plant growing in thick and low still. I added the first layer of netting to try to spread it out and thinned it out a ton but it still looks wicked dense. The top layer might be a little light damaged but the light isn’t that close so it could be a nutrients shortage. I’ll throw a little calmag and tap in the next feed instead of using pond water.

JonnyAppleWeed Ha ha I work at a homeless shelter and someone donated that weird ass Rasta penguin so I took it home to protect my bongs.

Day: 39

Two went outside by the water but this one stayed because there wasn’t enough fabric pots.

Day: 39

It rained last night but the top layer already looks wicked dry. I’ll throw some pond water around the edges since they just came out and are still in that fragile transition stage.

Day: 32

Was getting some clawing on the leaves so I figured it was an oxygen and water issue so I aerated a little by gently breaking up the right spots and watered from the bottom instead.

It’s been unusually cold outside so I can’t take these poor little ladies outside at all. I really need to get them bigger pants.

Day: 15

So here’s the thing…running out the door for vacation I knocked the carbon filter on three of the seedlings before I even transferred them into soil. I’m fairly confident the three survivors are Gold Leaf but I can’t remember why because I was sprinting out for our anniversary when I knocked everything over and was like oopsy daisy then returned a few days later and vaguely remember thinking, crap I kinda wish it was the blueberry because I still have some GL left. So whoops and here goes.

rhanneman1 That sucks man, hopefully they all recover.

hamburgerhill

hamburgerhill I lost all the blueberries but the crunched gold leaf rebounded like a champ.

Day: 15

You can see on the top gal that she got smooshed too but it only made her grow strange.

Three BB germinated quick and three gold split less convincingly. One is shy.
