Day: 76

It’s been a month since I last posted. I’ve been taking tons of photos and videos which I plan to throw together in one video documenting my first grow. I have bad eye sight, and even with a jewelers loop I can’t see close enough to really tell how milky the trichomes are. (Def need a better eye piece, or even better, just some new eyes) I was able to use my phone and the jewelers loop together and I was able to zoom in a little more and she does look about ready. But……it looks like there are new bud sights forming. Should I wait it out? Or when the trichomes turn that milky color it’s peak THC time, and ready for harvest regardless if there’s new buds forming?

Noah Hardy You should surely wait around 5-7 days max, the trichomes are just turning milky from clear, I would say wait till you start seeing the first amber trichomes and harvest right away. The bud could rapidly grow within that week you wait still.

sirCoffaLot

sirCoffaLot Thank you so much! I will def take your advice

Noah Hardy 👍 a lot of people make the mistake of harvesting early and I was thinking it’s better to harvest a bit late than early. The new buds forming also allow for new trichomes to grow so you don’t lost out on much potency. Other than that watch out for mold and spider mites, and Goodluck growing!

Been about a week since my last post. She’s doing awesome. My worst nightmare happened the other day and she did get knocked over. I fell to my knees when I came outside and saw it on the ground, buried in soil. I carefully threw it back in the plant bag, packed all the soil back inside, and she seems to be good to go. 😬 she’s flowering nicely!

Help!!! I’m noticing these weird cuts on pretty much the same part of a few leaves. Is this a pest or a deficiency?

cole.lee81

cole.lee81 Looks like genetic mutations

sirCoffaLot

sirCoffaLot Thank you, I was thinking about that too. I’m using happy frog organic soil, grow dots, and the tea recharge every other watering. So I’m not messing around with nutrients really. I’m paying close attention to insects, just evicted a spider. Thought it might be good to have one around for the other insects but I can’t be sure they’re not causing this.

Here we are, 1 month old! I had a week off so I spent alot of time with her this week. I literally watched her grow before my eyes. Morning joint and coffee was my favorite time. 😎 I’m doing this outdoors, and there were 3 days we didn’t really have any sun in New Bedford, Massachusetts.. I understand that UV rays are still strong as fck. But I brought her inside for about 8 hours during the day and threw an LED on it for a bit. And she opened up more than I’d seen her do outside! I did bring her back outside into the greenhouse at night. Because the sun wasn’t out the pot took longer to drain, and I believed I over watered her for 2 days and saw some yellowing on the tips started to occur. Without the heat from the sun for 3 days, I didn’t take that into consideration and I still watered her as much as I did when it’s outside. I waited 48 hours before watering again and the yellowing stopped on the tips, and she still looks so healthy. I noticed a few tears in some of the leaves in the first few baby nodes, but that honestly might’ve been from LST, so I plucked that leaf off. Just gotta try to be more careful. Also, pic #3, I believe this might be a pest of some sort that had a snack. Gotta keep my eye out. But here she is, 33 days since sprouting!

My girl has a visitor. I got concerned at first because I saw some strands of silk in my pot going from branch to branch, thought it could be a caterpillar which is bad news. 🐛 but it’s just a jumping spider. Doesn’t seem to be harmful and can actually be good to defend against other pests. Should I let the 8 legged girl live here? She’s still stretching her legs with some LST. Trying a few things…

combatmedic81 Idk? If you get spider mites you will regret it

sirCoffaLot

sirCoffaLot Yes that’s def a concern for sure. I’ve kept my eyes out, don’t see the spider anymore

Topping was a success. I understand with autoflowers, you don’t want to stress out your plant too much by defoliating and topping more than once. I am so tempted to top the two new tops buttttttt I am gonna hold off. Autoflowers pretty much grow themselves, and I’m having such a peaceful time growing my girl.

A bit of low stress training, and looks like topping did its trick.

Rastaman 2.0

Rastaman 2.0 Bro you need to bend the plant to do lst. Just bend her and readjust in few days go easy on her. If you scroll on my logs you will see how to.👊🏾

Very stressful day for a first time grow. Time for topping. All went well.

Rastaman 2.0 Lights stress does that lower lights intensity or higher the light self it bit more.

Sweetness

Sweetness Possibly the genetics or overwatered/heat stress? When the plants are little, it’s fairly easy to overwater them and curled leaves is a sign of over water or heat stress. It’s odd that only one side of the leaf shows the distortion which seems like it could be indicative of a genetic anomaly.

Sweetness

Sweetness I’ll add that I don’t expect that it will ultimately influence the grow. My first run of GSC had a bunch of odd shaped things early but in the end, they were pretty uniform, awesomely huge plants that yielded a lot (although it was only modestly strong). I wager in two weeks it will have worked itself out!
