ILGM Girl Scout Cookies Extreme Auto Flower

February 2024

On 2/1/2024 started 8 seeds in paper towel. All 8 had cracked by the evening of 2/2. Started in plugs which wasn’t ideal.

Day: 106

Final plant scope pics from Wednesday morning. The plant is hard to follow and I think that is mostly because of my mess ups in feeding and watering on it. Seems to show still a lot of clear tricromes that are just starting to show. But then looking at lower growths, notably sugar leaves low in the plant, a good chunk of the tricromes are amber already. It’s interesting that an auto flower plant has such a unique growing schedule. The rest of this and the next generation of flowers was much more consistent.

I think it’s amazing that only 3 weeks ago I was pretty concerned that this plant was a bust. The buds really exploded over that time, the plant is a mammoth compared to a month ago when her sisters were in the tent with her. As I watered her this morning I picked up her ripening scent finally which has similar tones to the other plant, however, she still got the gassier smell she had as her overarching scent. You just get the lemony, citrus and pepper undertones in addition and those tones stand out much better than they did only a week ago. She’s also finally frosting up as well which is also great to see.

Plant 3 yielded 6.21 oz after the 8 full days Cannatrol dry cure process. I trimmed to the above starting day 5 so that by completion the buds were trimmed (machine has 6 racks, so I did like a rack every 12 hours). It was much easier trimming after the full cycle and I’m thinking that next time I start plants, I’ll try and stagger starts so that I can harvest and full cycle each plant in the machine rather than try and juggle the drying step the way I did the first 2 plants. I think the buds on this came out very nice, kept their frostiness, smell good and look much better from a trim perspective than the prior 2 plants. So far from 3 plants were up to 15+ oz with the heaviest plant to go.

Plant 2 ultimately yielded 4 oz 17 grams dried.

The final plant of this grow remains to complete. I’m pretty amazed by the size of the plant, the buds got way denser than I expected but she’s definitely got issues as the leaves show. Nowhere near as fragrant as the other plants we took in this bunch far less sugar on the leaves and buds but she does still have a couple weeks I think as the tricromes are all still clear. Hopefully she’s still got leaves enough to produce them by then.

Day: 94

First plant dry, trimmed and placed into Grove Bags for curing. Dry, uncured weight was 4oz, 5g. Buds were fairly small and airy.

Did not wet weight plant 2 on cut down. Buds on this plant are substantially larger, more compact and massive compared to the last plant. I’m expecting a significant appreciation on this plant after drying is complete.

This will be the next one to come down once the prior plant completes drying. I may actually hold this one until Monday next week until this last plant completes both dry and cure in the Cannatrol just to compare the difference in the final product over the last plant. She’s rapidly approaching finish now and I’ll be checking tricromes today to determine if it needs to come down sooner or not.

This last one is a puzzle. Definitely a few weeks away but it seems to be blowing through nitrogen. I may flush her today just to see if it’s locked out maybe. Buds are thickening well through. Smell is mostly gassy, almost like a permanent marker kind of smell. Little tricrome development as well. Just odd when you look at it against the other plants that all shared similar traits.

Day: 90

After some though on space in the Cannatrol and size of my plants I realized that to ensure my ability to dry all in the Cannatrol that I needed a plan take the plants down one by one with at least 4 days in between. I opted after trichrome inspection to take plant 2 down over one as it seemed to have a larger sum of Amber tricromes in play. Pistols were about 80% orange and brown. Did not take a wet weight of plant. Low buds were larfy the top buds were firmer but nothing like the next two plats are.

Day: 85

This was my drought plant that managed to recover and is now about 3 weeks off these others. It stretched clearly way more than the others and bushed substantially over the last 3 weeks but bud sites are filling up now and it’s starting to look like a winner again.

This is the 2nd least mature of the 4. However, it’s looking like it will be a cow. It stretched more than the other 2, which seems to say that stretch might just slow the maturity process giving credence to all of the LST, Lollipoping folks out there. I didn’t do that because they were Autos. But I will say that I do think that some of the “Autos don’t like to be clipped or manipulated” is likely over generalized. I opted early and middle flower to defoliate low and through the midsection of my bushes to provide better airflow for the plants give how quickly u ran out of space for them. In the end, they tolerated it fine and it doesn’t seem to have adversely affected them. Autos seem to follow the same rules as photo, you listen to what the plant wants.

Second most mature is this lady. Super thick and getting heavy. She’s got a decided tropical fruit (pineapple, starfruit) aroma that is getting heavier with each passing day. Buds are swelling up. But looks like it’s got a ways to go. I’m basing maturity on pistols really, all my trichome pics so far are clear to cloudy on this and the most mature plant (most mature they are mostly cloudy). There’s a couple ambers per shot, but they’re clearly anomalies at this point.

This girl is furthest along. I really love her shape, feels almost bonsai. Her smell is sweet like candy with sugar, lemon and a smidge of pineapple. She has the heaviest perfume of all of them. Despite being the same strain, each of these plants has a very different scent. 1 and 3 have the most similar profile, but 3 has the candy, sugar, tropical but paired with an herbal/peppery scent. Plant 4 is completely off these with a gassy cheese aroma and nothing in common with the other three. We’ll see how it all play out of course.

Day: 80

Missed several milestones clearly. Plant in pic 5 was drought hit while we were on vacation. Need to invest in auto watering system that I can leave them for a week unmonitored. Pic 2 is most mature. Hairs are 35-40 red, trichrome cloudy, but no amber yet. Pic 3 is open structure, seems developing more sativa, second most mature. Buds are a little more open, not dense yet. Pic 4 nearly all buds are still white pistols. Still quite a ways to go on it.

inxile30

inxile30 I hadn’t yet gotten both of my tents up and running until well after starting my seeds. Next run will run better under a florescent start up in cups. Moved these to 5 gallon pots at 2 weeks once my 4 x 4 tent was set up. Of the 8 starter, I kept the 5 that appeared strongest to flower. 4 of 5 moved to flower automatically, but the 5th did not. As I can only legally have 4 in flower anyhow, removing that one from the mix was not a sad affair removing it. In the end, I only had tent space for 4 anyhow. Flowering under an HLG Scorpion Diablo at 75% capacity. Went on vacation for a week which depressed the bunch due to lack of watering while I was away. Fed right before leaving a gallon in the pot and a gallon in the wick feeder but that just wasn’t enough to tide them over. 3 of 4 recovered in 24 hours without impacts to status, 4th stayed wilty for 2 days before turning the corner and returning to health, but seems set back 2 weeks or so as it stands.
