Day: 106
8.3 Jars of Homegrown all organicNon-GMO medicine!! Took 7 days for the two smaller plants to dry and 8 for the two bigger ones. I didn’t need to add a humidifier or dehumidifier during the drying process the R/H was at about 53 the entire time until the last two days when it dropped to 36. I used two things that I must say made trimming not so bad. I had read all the horror stories lol. 1) Trim Bin. This thing is by no means a must but it is ergonomically designed to alleviate forearm muscle fatigue from holding and snipping. 2) Canna Brush. I have not grown or trimmed prior to this grow so I can not compare necessarily but using a combo of the canna brush and then fiskars to fine tune anything made trimming these four plants a 1.5 hour affair. There are a lot of opinions on this piece of equipment and everyone seems to be worried about trichome loss. From my experience, it was a lot of weed lol. I didn’t notice anything extra being knocked off anymore from the fiskars or just me handling them. IMO, it is worth the investment and do not try using the Betty Crocker Baster it isn’t as good, I tried haha. From trimming, I stored each plant in 32oz Mason Jars for curing. The process is a 4 week cure in which you burp for 30 mins a time. Week 1 twice a day, week 2 every other day, week 3 every two days, week 4 once. Once your plant dries it is actually smokable as far as potency but cured weed is worth the wait. The smells coming from these jars puts the dispo bud to shame. Nothing about my weed is trophy or award winning but I can 100% say if given a choice I’d pick my own bud. Just off of smell alone. The taste is getting there but it’s for sure smoother. I am more than pleased with my first grow especially knowing it can and will only get better. I’ve learned so much along the way. I’ve already purchased seeds from a legit seed bank, uograded my lighting for season 2 and invested in a second tent for veg. My plan is to have a perpetual setup netting around 1.5lbs a harvest every two months. Lastly the picture of the bowl was all from my little OGK 3 who was nice and short but bushy the whole grow. I also was floored from the odor and denseness of the Platinum Kush. It smells like purple if that makes sense, and gasoline. Freaking unreal. That one will be for me only this time around but enough babbling, cheers and thanks for whoever paid attention I did this journal just to keep track and did t even realize people were commenting randomly lol. Bud needs to get more users it seems very very under the radar as far as community goes. I added a bunch of pics starting with the most recent trim and jar pics, but I also included a extremely quick beginning to end just to show the process. For anyone on the fence about starting, just do it I promise you won’t regret it and you’ll ask yourself why was I so scared?!?! Later all! i May add a final smoke report later if I remember lol.

Day: 87
End of week 7 today ;) It has been quite the journey thus far in this first grow. I’ve experimented along the way and although I nearly killed one plant, lost another to stress within the first two weeks of flower, and didn’t figure out proper watering until flower started I am so damn pumped to be here. The Platinum Kush has stolen my heart. Originally a “just in case” seed it was two weeks behind the others in veg but it has shown serious promise and I’m glad i have a bunch of seeds remaining from that bag. The density and frost has been awesome to look at. I can only imagine what she could’ve been had I had the time to veg her and top her more than once. I have ceased giving any forms of nutes or supplements since Monday (7/20) which was the latest watering. From here out it’s all water. Hoping they all can finish around the same time so that I’m not staggering my harvest.

Day: 70
30 Days Since flipping the light schedule to 12/12. This marks the beginning of week 5. I turned on both the veg and flower switches. The Phlizon 3000w has a full spectrum blurple led for veg and 6 cobs for flower. Mind you I chose to use the cobs primarily for veg instead, they had way better light penetration and spread in my opinion and the plants were happy. I supplemented a low dosage of liquid nutes FloraGro and Bloom as well as CalMag still to aid in some premature yellowing. The yellowing has not spread since, But the next two or three waterings will be water only w CalMag. OGK1 and OGK3 (almost lost early on) have definitely been the largest growers and are almost dead even now surprisingly seeing as how OGK1 has been the tallest since sprouting. OGK1 and OGK3 were the two plants also showing yellowing or spotting on a few of the fan leaves. Both have orange hairs showing now as well! OGK2 is the most full still but also the shortest. No problems yet. A few orange hairs beginning to form. Platinum Kush is trying its hardest to catch up with everyone, it is the same height as the OGK1 and OGK3 but half the veg time. I expect it to yield the least but not for lack of trying just lack of time. Still it appears to at least have an ounce worth of bud on it. It’s been the frostiest of the four plants as well living up to its name with trichome production. The odor hasn’t been overwhelming but it does smell like a mix of skunk piss, forest and lemon zest. Weird combo but I’ll take it. A second trellis net was placed for support as the colas gain weight. Looking to be about 4 weeks out.

Day: 56
Sadly I opened the tent to discover pollen sacs growing on my Forbidden Fruit plant. Hurt so much to chop it down because it was my favorite strain and I accidentally drowned the other seed when I first started out :( I checked all the other plants and they were good to go. After disposing of the FF I moved the Platinum Kush to that corner previously occupied by the FF. Maybe now that it has more room to spread and get light it will help make Up for the loss slightly. We are now growing three OGK and one Platinum Kush for the home stretch. Humidity and temps have been awesome. The A/C was definitely the best investment for regulating temps. They don’t go over 80 and keep in mind the cobs I have are powerful. In about two weeks I’ll turn the full spectrum blur plea on and be at 100% of my lights capability. I have had no complaints with the phlizon 3000w other than the heat output but I am definitely going with T5s for the future. I’ve just seen the ease of use and end product and can’t find any negatives. The top trellis was added as well today once I removed my hermie from the tent. This one was loosely put up, not as tight. The purpose of the first layer is to train and spread the canopy. The second layer is for cola support. With that little hiccup out of the way everything else has been great. For my first grow there is just something so fulfilling watching your hard work pay off. I know I’m about 6 weeks out from harvest and if I pull at least two ounces (57.7g) per plant I’ll be more than a happy camper. With all the lessons learned this grow season 2 will be even more exciting! For now, Season 1 is keeping on. Cheers 🍀

Mystrain420 U should examine the corner the Bernie plant was in before putting another plant there. It might be a light leak in the spot
Leviosa73 I added extra covering there on the outside of the tent just in case. 🤙🏼
Day: 49
Just a small update. Growth is always fun, it’s been challenging keeping the two taller OGKs tucked they are so strong 💪 The Platinum Kush is continuing to bulk up, looking like I’m going to get her to fill up at least four grid squares before I stop tucking. Forbidden Fruit (my fav strain) is thickening out beautifully. There was one spot where the leaves were growing wonky and wrinkly but everywhere else has been great. Love opening that tent to new growth every morning! Cheers 🍀

Day: 46
Day 5 of Flower :) Little solo no longer, Platinum Kush decided to join the party and grow! The OGK3 that was struggling is now my second largest plant. I check daily to see who I can tuck or weave. It’s been amazing seeing the growth and now that I’m in the beginning of the phase that we all care about it’s nice to feel like thus far I’ve stayed on schedule. The OGK that has been my over achiever from the get go also gave me a nice bonus...back when I originally topped her a little nub pokes out which then turned into a sad looking finding Nemo leaf. This leaf has now become a center bud site right where I topped, yay 😀. I do wish the Platinum Kush had more time to veg and really fill out but it’ll have to do. It’s hard not to look down the road at the next grow even at this point just because I feel there are so many things I’ve learned that would be corrected the next time around. If I could start 5 more plants and grow to the same day they would look way different I’m sure of it. I have a lot of random dispo seeds I’ve collected but I do feel my next grow I want to get 1) better genetics 2)fem seeds from the get go 3) a mother plant Cheers 🍀

Day: 39
Transplanted the Platinum Kush from the solo to its final 3g home. The other 4 are almost on day 40 of veg. I flipped the schedule to 12/12. For the last week I’ve been running only the cobs vs only the blurple LEDs on the Phlizon 3000w with positive results! I will bring the blurples back on mid way through flower as not to stunt them because the cobs definitely pound. My temps haven’t gone over 80F and I still haven’t used a humidifier in almost a month. I also applied earth work castings to each pot. I have also included 5ml of CalMag per gallon of water. Last watering each plant drank about 1/2g. Tonight will be the next feeding as it’s been almost 4 days since the last and they are ready. I have my fingers crossed for 5/5 ladies on my first grow all bag seed and three different strains! Time will tell but soon as each plant has it’s gender identified I can put the trellis up and start weaving. Cheers 🍀

Day: 35
Again subtract 9 days this journal is out of wack but all of my updates were going to be out of order if I didn’t manually change the day myself. My last entry took place 5/13/2020 for reference. The seeds all were planted 4/20/2020. Nothing major just 5 days since topping. Cheers!

Day: 30
Plants were topped! The Tea didn’t seem to hurt anything except I may have left too much flesh on the watermelon so there are some sugar stains I guess on some of the leaves. Nothing terrible at all but from certain angles they aren’t so shiny they just look white including the first day I looked in after spraying And thought it was mold. Closer inspection, nope just looks like a little left over. Each plant except the little baby Platinum was at its 5th node, I was nervous at first but then after you take the tops you kinda feel like “welp that’s that then...” I have done some research, extensive but a few things will be adjusted. There is a humidifier in there that hasn’t been turned on in nearly a week. My grow tent environment hasn’t dipped below 35%RH and is usually in the 45-50, without the humidifier on! Possibly humidifiers May be counter intuitive? We shall see together. Secondly my current light is a 3000W Phlizon Blurple LED for veg, it also has 6 COB LEDs for Flower. I’ve had this light way too close, I think this is why so many LED users run into issues with stunted growth, and canopy environment issues. The light was brought as high as I could bring it. This will allow for better spread instead of blasting my plants at 18-24” with focused led beams. Again, we shall see going along :) You’ll notice the OGK 1 is looking a little droopy and I think it’s a result of me seeing if I needed to LST or not so she was bent (GENTLY) a few times. OGK 2 is still my fav and if I had planned on taking clones for practice I’d sample from her. OGK 1 is winning in the height department but OGK2 is much more thicker structurally. Forbidden Fruit is starting to shoot up a little more as well, I noticed some curling at the edges of the leaves which I feared may have been because the tower fan was closest to it and also may be going a little to fast. I switched the fan and lowered the speed and I will watch over the next few weeks how the new leaves look. Lastly, Platinum Kush is going strong and on the third node! I May just go with a 3g pot for her, this will allow me to have some spare medium and living soil concentrate which I just discovered can be used to make compost teas as well! Combined with molasses and 2-3 tbsp of living soil concetrate it is supposed to be enough for 1-2 gallons of tea depending on strength. Cheers!

Day: 30
Past two weeks have been scary with my OGK3 showing signs of deficiency, you’ll see the cover picture and understand. After consulting I determined there was possibly too much cover crop drawing away nutes from the MJ plant. I uprooted the cover crop as best I could and added additional soil to each pot. It was only a matter of time that the same issue could and would present itself to the others. Immediately after those steps and a good watering the healing process begun. Sadly not out of the woods yet and there also seems to be some Cal Mag issues which strikes me as odd because the whole point of this super soil mix is to have all of the bases covered for the entire life cycle of the plant. I am also wondering if my negligence in the beginning with watering affected the roots so that they either haven’t grown big enough to get to the mixed portion of soil, or didn’t fully develop those root hairs that absorb the nutrients....Would be unfair to blame the soil. I found a recipe for cal mag that requires the following: Eggshells (crushed) Epsom Salt Water Take your large stock pot, add 1 gallon of water, 30g of dried eggshells and 15g of Epsom Salts. Place on your stovetop and turn your burner to high. Bring this mixture up to a boil and keep it boiling for about 5 minutes. 6. After a few minutes, turn off your burner and cover your pot with the lid. Let this sit for at least 24 hours. The eggshells and epsom salts will release their nutrients into the water during this time. 7. Strain any eggshells or debris out of the mixture. 8. Water your plant with 2 cups of this mixture to give your plant a boost of calcium, magnesium and sulfur. This recipe makes 1 gallon of cal-mag booster, which is enough for 8 treatments. Store the remaining to use later. This recipe was from https://www.withthepot.com/post/diycalmag by Chef Anna. She said her own plant took about four days from the first treatment to regain its color and structure. I will post an update once I apply this myself and the results. I have not run my humidifier, nor lowered my lights since my previous post. To the best of knowledge this has not had a negative impact on the plants. My RH hasn’t dipped below 20% and when it gets that low it meant it was time to give them water. After watering all of them the RH stays near 60 for about 2 days then drops and stays at around 45%.

Day: 29
Ladies are growing! The a Blumats have been working well as best as I can tell. My pots have had a noticeable heft to them. I made two lines on the jug and the water level dips below the second line around the third day. This has been super beneficial in keeping me from overwatering which has only happened once so far lol. Temps in the tent have stayed at 84F max during the day at its hottest, but in the evening dips between 80-82. Lights off temps are 70-75. I’ve kept the RH between 45-55%RH. To this point I’ve only watered and lightly managed the cover crop. A few garden ties have been implemented for support here and there but they were removed after the plants no longer needed them. I am going to start brewing a mild compost tea consisting of banana, cucumber and watermelon peels. It’s 100% organic and you can use immediately after brewing and cooling. This particular tea will be implemented once weekly as I monitor the effects. From my understanding this tea is mild enough you can foilar spray as well without risk of burning the plants. As they grow the strength of my tea will increase but you can always add more as needed versus trying to take away. I have considered getting a portable a/c soon especially before flipping to flower and using the cobs as well, just from a test run the temps were in the 90s! Be glad when the last big equipment purchases are over.... Also these seeds were planted officially on 4/20, and sprouted on 4/25. I think when I started the journal which was just a test run of equipment it started from that day. These girls are actually on DAY 20

Mystrain420 This looks amazing I’m gonna be following and asking questions if you don’t mind. Have a question now actually, what’s the benefits of that particular tea brew? And u say it needs to cool so are you boiling this or bubbling like an aact tea?
Leviosa73 Hey this tea is actually brewed in a pot not a bucket with an air stone. I will post pictures in my next update but bananas on the N-P-K scale are 0-25%-42%. This method you quickly boil the peels and the strained liquid is combined in a 1:4 ratio. It’s mild enough to be safe on seedlings even but the potential benefits can’t be ignored. I am learning too so we’ll see what happens
Mystrain420 Thank you so much fo the information. I look forward to your updates.

Day: 23
Things are moving!! The OGK has been growing quickly. The Forbidden Fruit appears to be shorter but will have thicker leaves compared to the OGK. The Platinum Kush seedling has been taking FOREVER to ditch the helmet. I installed Bluemats into each pot. This will help to lessen the chances I overwater. My jug reservoir was filled with R/O water and I marked a starting line to compare with 24 hours later. Hoping by the end of the week the saturation levels will balance themselves out and then I just need to keep the water topped off. From the look of it they were set up correctly. I’m pumped to have possibly found a Solution to my watering needs. Although the solo cup seedling is driving slow I’m gonna let her go along for the ride and see if she speeds up after the root system gets set up. I attached a few photos, Including one of my current light height. Curious if it needs to be lowered or raised or nothing at all. Peace y’all

NDEVGROWS Do you leave the other little plants growing in there for a reason? Like pest control etc?
Leviosa73 Hey those are cover crops, their purpose is to help pull nitrogen out of the air and into the soil for the main plant to then absorb. Aka natural nitrogen fixer instead of administering nutes
NDEVGROWS Awesome thank you! Good luck
Day: 22
I brewed a banana peel fertilizer tea. The recipe called for 2-3 banana peels, and some cucumber peels. I also added watermelon rinds and coconut water. Mind you the last two were my additions. There are different levels to banana fertilizers that I have come across, including making a slow release amendment from grinding up dried out peels that I may try down the road. That particular method would be used throughout the grow as it is slow release. After applying the mix I did notice in the morning some shiny spot on the leaves. I m not worried but I wonder if there was too much sugar in the mix due to the watermelon. The growth on all of the plants has been awesome even in just a few days time. Every time I open that tent I swear there is a new node! Which brings me to the girls....I replaced the older color clips for actual garden plant tags so it feels a little more organized. OGK1 has been the tallest and fastest to grow of all however the node spacing doesn’t seem ideal to me. I have attached photos regarding. OGK2 is now my favorite especially from the aesthetic side of things, she looks like she may be shorter but bushier. The node spacing is way better on this one. OGK3 is catching up, unfortunately some cover crop was growing faster and had one of the newer leaves sittin sidewayz, which hopefully after some lawn mowing will straighten out on its own. The spacing on this one is also nice. Forbidden Fruit has been moving at her own pace not too fast or too slow but always moving. I like the difference in lead structure compared to the OGK, seems rounder. Lastly Platinum Kush has been making a case to not get the axe! I was strongly considering letting this seedling go and keeping my grow to just the original four pots HOWEVER....as of lately (two days ago?) she has been tryna play catch up and now I’m considering prepping a 5g Fab Pot for transplant but I want to keep this one in the solo for now. My latest hobby expense was the AC Fan, it was a LG 8,000BTU model but it works!!! The air in my grow room is crisp and cool and hasn’t gone above 80. I am still debating on lowering the light height any thoughts? Thanks for checking in, stay safe! Edite Note: This is Day 22, Day 29 on the grow journal actually came before this.

Day: 14
Sprout Day!!!! There was some serious learning the first week getting this going since planting the seeds. There was a bit of panic on my part because there was absolutely zero activity happening and I realized I hadn’t watered the soil since day one which I know isn’t a huge issue except I’m using organic soil and there doesn’t seem to be a solid answer on whether I need humid soil or moist soil. And yes there’s a difference apparently. I’m also unsure how much to water for the entire pot to get enough moisture ensuring the bottom layers mixed with the living soil concetrate are happy. Any feedback on that would be appreciated. I asked on another platform and got mixed answers. I am debating getting a blumat system to help remedy this but again, mixed reviews on that. I also considered just getting those water bottle stakes and just keeping those topped off as well. Thoughts? Water issues...my water sucks but I was able to remedy that problem and located some R/O for free, just costs me the trip to fill up my jugs. I still have looked into my own system for future use and came across a few that were budget friendly. One in particular was a 4 stage model by Liquagen which was meant to be portable. The GPD wasnt the highest but you are able to upgrade that kit to the whole thing if you want down the road. It was going for around $80-90 on Amazon. Onto the plants! You’ll see in the pictures that the cover crop is taking off as well! My research has led me to understand this mixture of plants will act as a nitrogen fixer for the plant and form a nice symbiotic relationship. I planted these seeds the same day I planted my four champions however I am not sure if it best to allow them more time before planting the cannabis seed or not. The two lower pots with the green markers are the OG Kush. Both bag seed. These two both sprouted strong and if I’m being honest this was a day after I panicked and gently fished for it to find the seed was planted deeper than a bitch in all the pots HOWEVER the tap roots were all there but I knew for sure they had been buried too deep. The two upper pots with the blue markers are the forbidden fruit plants. Both of these are looking like they will need another day or two but the upper right seedling did scare me enough that I germinated a few seeds via the paper towel method just in case LOL. Note, I did not use this method of germination originally. All four seeds were planted directly into their final pots from the get go. I do have a lot of seeds that I’ve collected so I’m ok if they aren’t going to be needed at all. The practice was worth it. I placed two Platinum Kush seeds onto a damp paper towel that I folded making sure they were spaced out enough. This folded up “packet” was placed into a sandwich bag and I left it on top of my audio reciever for a day and a half. This method was repeated for two additional OG Kush seeds. Again, I had a few seeds. Both packets produced a seed with a really strong taproot and one seed that had juuuuuuuust popped and was peaking out. I went Spartan on them and discarded the two slow growers. I drilled 5 little holes into the bottom of a red solo cup and filled that with Happy Frog organic potting soil only. The Platinum Kush seed was planted tap root down into the this cup. This cup will either become a replacement or a 5th plant altogether (I have enough medium for one more 5g pot). I also planted the strong OG Kush seed in one of the larger Forbidden Fruit pots. I marked it with a toothpick. Whichever seedling looks best will keep their home haha. Heating/Cooling issues... I’m running a AC Infinity T6 and it’s definitely legit however I need somewhere to vent the tent air. During the day when the sun is hitting that room I am getting 87F but on average the highs have been 82-84. After sun sent and until around noon it’s been 80. This will be remedied largely when I find a way to vent to the air out. I am thinking about using the ceiling fan hole but it’s way smaller than the 6” ducting. When I keep the door open to the grow room (not the tent), the tent environment is stable so I know for sure it’s just hot air being exhausted out of the tent with nowhere to go after. That’s it for now peoples gonna take my happy ass to bed!

Day: 9
Today was plant day! 5 Gal Fab Pots filled bottom 1/3 with mix of Natures Living Soil and Happy Frog. 2/3 Happy Frog to top it off. I sprinkled a cover crop mix around the seedlings consisting of: Crimson/Medium/White/Yellow Blossom Sweet Clover...Hairy/Common Vetch...Fenugreek, Forage peas, Flax, Cowpeas, Buckwheat, Millet snd Lentil seeds. I wasn’t sure if theses seeds needed to be buried as well but after the picture attached I added a light layer of soil. I didn’t germinate the cannabis seeds but planted them directly into the medium. I am trying to remove as many extra steps as possible and hopefully mitigate the chances for user error lol. The light height will be adjusted as soon as I find our measuring tape. Happy 4/20/2020 !

insotawesaypop looks good ,whats the temp in your growtent with your set up? im thinking of doing the same thing and was wondering if it can get to hot easily in there.
Leviosa73 Gets about 82-84F to with my R/H at about 45% (I live in a desert climate) but the lows have been 74-77F...I’d like to maybe hook a portable a/c unit up to my inline booster fan but we’ll see. The light I have also has 6 cobs that when I tested along with the veg lights had the temperature at 95! Definitely gonna need it by flower.
